"Hey, I brought pizza." Rachel said with a smile, holding the box out towards her host before realising that Nat was on crutches. She quickly put the box to the side and shut the door, shaking her head as she she spoke "Oh coffee bean, what are we going to do with you? Go sit down. I'll get plates and drinks and stuff."
Natalia still hadn't said a word, her heart was racing and she could feel herself blushing slightly at the nickname. She slowly nodded as she made her way to the couch and took a seat, putting her leg up on the coffee table.
"Where are your plates? And cups? And drinks?"
"Plates and cups are that top right shelf, drinks are in the fridge." Nat mumbled, trying to get herself comfortable without looking too much like a slob. "It's good to see you Daly."
"It's good to see you too Stephens." Rachel grinned as she plopped down next to her host. "A little friend of ours told me you haven't been out much since you hurt your leg, and that you haven't been... how do I put this nicely?" She paused. "You haven't been making friends with your teammates?" She handed her a plate and some pizza.
"For fucks sake Jordan" Natalia groaned, eliciting a chuckle from the Dash player. "That's not true! I go out every couple of days for physio.. and I talk to my teammates I just maybe don't feel I fit in yet." She shrugged and took a bite of her food. "But I'm fine!"
Rachel raised her eyebrow but let the matter rest, instead picking up the remote and flicking through the channels. "This little friend of ours also told me that someone likes Disney movies and their favourite is Beauty and the Beast."
Jess grinned and nodded, now focusing on the story she'd heard thousands of times play out on the screen in front of her.
They sat mostly in a comfortable silence, the odd question being asked here or there.
"So how's Kristie?" Nat asked, trying to maintain some conversation with her guest. It was the first thing that came to mind and she had panicked! The calm atmosphere suddenly becane quite tense.
"Um yeah fine. She's fine. Things are fine." Rachel muttered quickly, the silence returning but this time it was an incredible uncomfortable silence.
Still, things with Rachel felt easy, felt simple. Natalia felt safe and happy around her international teammate. But Rachel had a girlfriend. A serious girlfriend.
That didn't stop Natalia's mind from drifting back to the last time her and the blonde had seen each other. The last thing they did together. The time she had realised her heart had been stolen by Rachel Daly.
AN: So i know where I want the story to end but no idea how to get there/what to put in the middle :(
