Chapter 9: Samgyupsal!

"Kimchi...onions....ham" I said while reading the list I have. The six boys and I decided to go grocery shopping for awhile. Hwanwoong and Keonhee were playing hide and seek because Keonhee kept getting things that they don't need. Seoho was dancing to the music of the store while Dongju was busy picking out the best products they need. Geonhak however was doing nothing at all. Youngjo volunteered to help me get some things on my list. "I think this is the last thing on your list" Youngjo said, "oh really? I guess we're done" I said and high five with him, "Jaeni!" A familiar voice called me, "eh?-Mingyu!" I said and hugged Mingyu. "Didn't know you're here too" Mingyu said and laughed. When Mingyu stopped laughing he suddenly looked at Youngjo and looked surprised, "oh you guys must dating?" Mingyu asked, "oh-no we're just friends" I said and Youngjo nodded, "by the way come visit me later, let's have samgyup!" Mingyu said and showed his groceries, "oh yeah I think we should, right Youngjo?" I asked, "oh sorry, I'll pass, we have some recording to do later" Youngjo said and patted my head. "I guess it's just you and me" Mingyu said, "huh? Don't you have other friends?" I asked, "I lived in America for 4 years how should I get friends here in Korea?" Mingyu said and laughed, "well, see you then" I said and Mingyu left. "You're going?" Youngjo asked, "yeah why not?" I said, "but it's getting dark, he might do bad stuff to you and you'll end up crying" Youngjo said and I lightly slapped him on the face, "stop telling the future. Everything that you say comes true you asshole" I said and went straight to the counter. "I'm just a worried FRIEND okay?" Youngjo said, "why say the "friend" loud?" I asked, "you might get mad at me again" Youngjo said, "why do you care so much?! It's my life I can do whatever I want Youngjo" Youngjo said in a high pitch voice , "stop" I said, "you're just a friend you're not someone I should be following!" Youngjo said, again in a high pitch voice, "I said stop" I said and looked at him dead in the eye, "alright alright I'm stopping...." Youngjo said and laughed

After grocery shopping, we went to put our grocery bags inside their company's car, Keonhee got surprised when he received a text from their manager, "guys, we need to be there in 30 minutes" Keonhee said, "oh we need to hurry up then" Geonhak calmly said and went inside the car. While inside the car the driver looked at me, "so you're dating anyone in here?" He asked, before I could speak, all of them shouted "YOUNGJO" And my face suddenly turned red, "No! No! We're just friends" I said and Youngjo laughed. "Yeah you guys look good together" the driver said, "look good together AS friends" I said and all of them looked at me, "are you sure?" Hwanwoong asked, "no feelings just a little bit?" Keonhee asked too, "are you just shy to tell us?" Dongju asked as well, "just friends? Really?" Seoho asked, when I looked at Geonhak, he looked blank, "I'm not going to ask if you like him" Geonhak said and I sighed relief until- "do you love him?" Geonhak suddenly said that made me rolled my eyes on them, "yes I'm sure, I have no feelings for him, I'm not shy, we're just friend" I said, "And I love him as a buddy" I added and everyone said "oh" in unison. After the long ride, we're finally in front of my apartment. Youngjo originally volunteered to help me get my groceries but Geonhak went out after me and closed the car door. "Thanks for carrying them for me" I said and was about to go inside the house when Geonhak cleared his throat, "noona, Youngjo likes you" he said, "what are you talking about?" I said and laughed, "he's stressed whenever you drink, he can't calm himself when you're out having fun, he wanted the best for you. He likes you" Geonhak said and smiled, "what? Why are you telling me this all of the sudden?" I asked, "because you can't seem to see it" Geonhak said. I gave him a confused look until Dongju shouted "hey! We're gonna be late", "don't tell him I told you" Geonhak said and I nodded and he went back to the car and left.

"Because you can't seem to see it", That sentence keeps going around my mind. What does Geonhak mean by that? That I'm not seeing that Youngjo likes me? He doesn't show affection at all, he doesn't show he's jealous or something. He goes blank when I talk about boys, why did Geonhak said that I'm too blind to see Youngjo's effort to say he likes me? I don't understand at all

While thinking about it, somebody knocked on my door, when I opened, it was Mingyu, with a rose on his left hand. "Oh Mingyu? Didn't know you'll come here" I said, "I know you don't know where I live so I'm here to pick you up" Mingyu said and smiled. I immediately went to my bedroom and changed clothes and went back to Mingyu and got inside his car. While driving I looked at Mingyu who was smiling, "hmm, you seem pretty happy tonight" I said, "of course, I've got the chance to be with you again" Mingyu said, "pssh don't say things like that" I said and laughed, "jinjja. I missed you so much. It's sad I didn't got updated on what's been happening to you for the past 4 years" Mingyu said and frowned, "oh that's okay, at least we're together now" I said and smiled, "yeah true" Mingyu said. When we finally got to his place, He told me to go to his view deck and when I did, I found that he has everything prepared, the small stove, the beef and pork, the side dishes and everything. "Doesn't it look nice?" Mingyu asked, "it's beautiful!" I said and looked at Mingyu, who was already looking at me. "Can't wait to have some alone time with you" Mingyu said and smirked, "you're not going to rape me right?" I said, "what? No!" Mingyu said and patted my head.

YOUNGJO POV

After recording for my part, I sat silently and waited for the rest of my members. "You've been quiet these days hyung" Geonhak said, I didn't answered him and just looked at the papers, "you like Jaeni so much huh?" Geonhak said, "huh? What's with Jaeni?" I asked, "nothing. You're always happy with her... you even gave in when you had a fight with her", " how did you know that?" I asked, "everything's obvious hyung..." Geonhak said and smiled. "Yeah I like her...but she doesn't know that...she doesn't even care if I like her because she has boys to play with" I said and frowned, "just confess to her" Geonhak suggested, "are you crazy, we've been friends for so many years she might ignore me if I confessed", "why would she?" Geonhak asked, "I don't know...everything I say comes true so she might ignore me" I said, "she's also not a serious type either, I'm scared if she's my girlfriend" I added. "Love can change people. Maybe you're the answer to her questions" Geonhak said and went inside the recording room again...

JAENI POV

"So is the meat good?" Mingyu asked,
"Oh it's the best. You're good at cooking this huh" I said and took another bite. "So, tell me, how are you?" Mingyu asked. "You know Choi San, he became my boyfriend" I said, "oh really? But isn't he like, a playboy?" Mingyu asked, "he was because I caught him cheating on for like I don't know times...until he broke up with me" I said and made a sad face, "at least you're now free from an unhealthy relationship" Mingyu said and gave me another cooked meat. "But...Youngjo. What is he to you?" Mingyu asked, "oh him? He's just a friend. Nothing more" I said, "are you sure?", "y-yeah...well...I don't really know actually" I said. "Do you have feelings for him?" Mingyu asked, "I don't really know" I said and took a bite. "Why are we even talking about him?" I asked, "nothing, I'm just curious about him", "oh don't tell me you're also gay like my ex" I said, "what? No! Why would I...I like a girl" Mingyu said. I almost choked on my food when I heard that Mingyu likes someone. He was surprised that I choked that he rushed inside his house to give me a glass of water. "Are you okay?" He asked, "yeah. Who do you have a crush on?" I suddenly asked. "Oh uhm...she's a close friend" He answered. I started to assume that it's me. I really don't know but I'm starting to think that he's trying to get closer to me so that he could ask me to be his girlfriend. Like he's trying to show that he likes me. I'm starting to have feelings for my best friend...Mingyu, do you like me?
