Y/N's muffled scream of horror brought me back to reality, after the blow temporarily stunned me. I choked as blood pooled out of my mouth and onto my already stained red tunic, as well as the grass beneath me. With short, wheezed breaths I looked up at the one that gave the attack - he was already staring down at me with a crazed smile.

"I knew you wouldn't let us down, hero." He cooed, spinning his sickle around "Your sacrifice is much appreciated."

Through my extreme pain I scowled, and brought a hand over the large gash over my chest. How it didn't instantly kill me is a miracle... "G-Go to hell."

"Ha, gladly! As long as you'll be there waiting." He tilted his head "Oh but I forget, you're Hylia's precious errand boy, she wouldn't allow that... or would she?"

Y/N was struggling against the other two behind me, but they held her back. Good... she couldn't join in. I was doing this on my own. Coughing out more blood I addressed the redhead again "What are you... talkin' about...?

The man in front of me smirked and lifted my chin with the flat of his weapon.

"You're not the angel Hyrule thinks you are, are you?" He whispered "Look at all the things you've messed up during your time here...all the destinies you've ruined... all the lives lost because of you.... it's actually hilarious. But I'm not laughing. I'm not laughing because there's one thing I can't overlook. And that's her."

He nodded over to Y/N, a scowl now forming on his face. Somehow, he was even more terrifying than before.

"She died- she died because of your failure to protect her and the princess, and became this... pure... innocent... weak excuse of a reboot. You killed one girl and took another from her world. From her home."

My already painful and pulsing chest began to sting from his words, my watery eyes widening "I-I didn't mean—"

"Whether you meant to or not, that's what happened." He leaned forward "It's you're fault..."

"I̶̥̤̔ͅT̷̛͙̗͍͇͒̽͗̕ͅ'̵̡̤̳̻̎͂̍̀̀S̵̗̙̀̿͝͝͠ ̵̛̼̗̫̞̺̈́͆̆̄Y̶̧̪̱̘̮̚O̵͚͂̋̋͘͝U̵͓͔̙̓͋̿̚̕Ŗ̷̫̯́͐̆̍ͅ ̷̹̟̃F̸̨̐̄̄͛̿A̴̠͛̒͂U̶̙̲̳͋͠L̸͉̐̅̏͜T̴̢̟̞̪͛̀!̷̧̟͚̙̠̃͗͆!̵͙́̃̉̾!̷̝͍͈̆̓̇̊͂"

I let out a choked gasp in horror, as that moment in my nightmare repeated. "No. No, no, no... that isn't true! I-It isn't!" 

The man growled and turned his sickle around, slamming the hilt of it into my nose sending my head back. He grabbed a fistful of my hair and turned my head around "Look at her, Link! She wouldn't be here if you had been strong enough, and your Y/N wouldn't have died! You're weak! You're a failure! You've ruined so many lives! You're just as bound to Hell as I am, and I am determined to drag you down there with me for what you've done!"

I wanted to argue, I really did, but as soon as I saw Y/N's frightened and tearful expression, I couldn't say anything...

What if he's right...

My heart was already in a weakened state thanks to the sword, but the loss of blood as well as his words were too much to handle... tears began to fall from my eyes, mixing with the crimson liquid from my mouth as they dropped from my jaw.
