(I decided I'll just post the DotD special here while I'm working on my Secret Santa, sorry if you've already seen it peeps!)

Huh, I don't have a lot of things to say, Happy Halloween peeps!

And if you don't celebrate it like me, Happy Day of the Departed!

(By the way, this was originally going to be in my oneshot book, but I decided to turn it into a two part story because of the holiday!)

Now, I had no idea what to write and I asked a bunch of people. My favourite idea came from Sapphire_Wolf2006 (holy crap I realized I accidentally unfollowed you! Sorry for that!). The idea was kid ninja going trick or treating. Nice and simple.

Finally, excuse me if this is a bit rushed. I didn't have much time to write it (though when do I have time XD). So yeah!

So let's begin, shall we?

(I decided to have the ninja as tweens and early teens, since I don't think they'd let them out alone if they were like 5 or 4 XD. They are at least 5 or 7 years younger though!)

Cole's POV

"Dad! Where is it!" I yelled from the other room. I could already hear dad sighing yet again. I mean, I can't be that annoying. That's Jay's job!

Dad can be... Cold at times. I don't blame him, really. He's been stricter ever since mom died, but I don't know what to do about it. I think I'll continue with the whole music thing for now.

But hey, maybe he can find a friend this Halloween. The Royal Blacksmiths are all pretty friendly, but too snobby for him. I don't want him becoming another snobby celebrity like Cliff Gordon. I wonder why Jay likes that guy so much. I guess the hero he plays in the movies is cool, although Jay always preferred the comic version.

Oh, yeah, you probably don't know who Jay is. He's been my best friend since kindergarten, I've known him for pretty much forever. And boy he talks a lot. And I mean a lot. And he makes a lot of puns and jokes. Probably why girls avoid us so much. But it's fine, they're the ones missing out. Jay's a blabbermouth, but in a good way.

We wanted to go trick or treating today, since it's the Day of the Departed. But we wanted to make it special this year. We will attempt to do what no other kid has managed to do. Climb the stairs to the Monastery up the hill. They say there are over a hundred, but that the old man living there has a whole closet filled with candy, which means I'll need a large basket to put them in. Speaking of the basket...

"Did you find it?" I yelled again. In came dad with my plastic basket. But something was inside it.

Dad looked at me in disgust. "You're not thinking of wearing... this, are you?" He said and pointed at my costume. Well, it's true I wanted to be simple this year. I just cut two holes in a white bed sheet and put it over me.

"What? I'm a ghost!"

Dad sighed again, pulling something out of my basket. It was accessories. A wolf tail, ears, and a snout. I smiled at him in surprise. "A werewolf?"

"Well you're not going out wearing your bed sheets," he smiled back and I couldn't help but grin. I took the sheet off of me and put them on. They felt real, and not uncomfortable. Huh.

"Your friend must be here. Go meet him," he gave me a thumbs up and left the room. I hadn't even noticed the bell ringing.

I ran to the door, seeing Jay himself on the other side. He was, of course, in a Starfarer costume. The red neck scarf he was wearing was the only thing I recognized, and not even from the franchise. Edna, his mom, had knitted this for him last year.

He had a basket as well, with a ghost on it, and he dragged me outside before I could talk. Let the blabber begin.

"So, I say we start going from now. We should be able to come back before our curfew if we start now. And then we can maybe pass by our school, although I don't think the girls will let us pass the entrance. They always go there first, though I don't think they serve good candy anyways. I mean, it's our school we're talking about-"

"Jay," I said and he turned to look at me. "You're going the wrong way.

"Oh, right," he corrected himself and came back next to me. "So... Do you think we should go to another place today? I heard Ignacia has a good candy shop. And it's not that far from here!"

"Jay, no one has good candy in Ignacia. Less than three kids probably live there. What's the point of them having candy?" I raised an eyebrow. "Besides, you know our mission."

"I guess you're right," he sighed. "Oh well. To the Monastery!" He exclaimed and ran, and I couldn't help but follow behind him.

Kai's POV

"Just stand still, Nya," I said, getting more and more irritated.

"But charcoal tickles," she giggled as I painted whiskers on her cheeks and smudged it in her nose.

"Well, if you hadn't spent out last money on your tail and ears, we'd have enough money for face paint now."

She glared at me. "Well, I'm sorry I thought of you and bought fangs for your vampire costume and tried to make you a cape with mom's old supplies," she said, offended.

While I appreciate her work, I don't think dressing up as a cat was worth our last pocket money. But then again, I owe her a trick or treat trip since we didn't go last year. Or the year before. Or the year before that... Well, we haven't gone since mom and dad died. Or at least I think they did. Even I can't remember.

At least Nya's having fun, that's all that matters now.

About Nya... I picked up the piece of charcoal and smudged it all over my clothes, which wasn't the best idea thinking about it, since I was wearing a white buttoned up shirt.

"Do you forgive me now?" I said and tried to get her to hear me through her giggling.

"Well... Only if you take me to the Monastery," she said with a cheeky smile. Of course.

"Okay then, but don't start complaining when you get tired of walking."

"I won't, now let's go! Grab your bag!" She said as she tried to drag me outside. While a small cloth sack isn't the best bucket, it can store a lot more candy. Plus, it's free. So it will do for now.

This is also the first year we didn't have enough money to buy a lantern, so let's hope the dead spirits accept candy as an offer of respect.

So yeah, there goes part one!

You may wonder why Lloyd and Zane weren't here, well it will all be explained in the next chapter!

C ya in the next one peeps!
