Luke came to my house the next evening to help me get ready for the party and to just hang out. We were sitting in my room on my bed just talking about anything and everything.

"You should play guitar for me." Luke said.

"No way." I replied. I hate playing in front of just one or a couple people. I do much better in front of a large crowd.

"Why not?"

"Because!"

"Babe, please! You've heard me play!"

"But you're actually good, Luke."

"Well I know that you sing really well and Laurel says you're really good at guitar too, so I think you're not giving yourself enough credit here."

"The only way I'm playing is if you're my slave for an entire day. When I say, and whatever I want you to do, you have to do it." I said, thinking that would get him to back off.

"Deal!" Luke gushed.

"What, seriously? Oh, c'mon." I said, shaking my head.

Luke walked over and grabbed my white Fender Sonoran acoustic and handed it to me. "Here you go." He said. "Play away!"

I groaned and said, "What do you want me to play?"

"I don't care, anything!"

"How about Autumn Leaves, Ed Sheeran?"

"Sounds good to me."

I started picking the strings, trying my hardest because even though I told Luke I wasn't any good, I desperately wanted him to think that I was.
