A few days later we arrived at Arthdal. The slaves from Iark, especially the Wahan who can speak Arthdal, were locked up in the Fire Fortress dungeon, to be auctioned at the highest price.

But the slave auction was delayed because Tagon was suddenly arrested for allegedly committing Ollimsani to his warriors who died during the hunt. Ollimsani can only be done by the Asa Clan priests. And worse, who reported it was his own father, Sanung Niruha.

I know that the relationship between father and son is problematic. Not because I became Tagon's "family", but because Tagon often told me something. Not only about his Igutu blood, I also know his many secrets. He believes in me. Maybe because I'm not talking. It's been almost eight years and I still obey him not to make the slightest sound, even when I'm in pain.

The Holy Court stated that Tagon was innocent, on the contrary Sanung Niruha had to be arrested. Even though Sanung Niruha was the leader of the united, Tagon was my master. I obeyed Tagon's orders to arrest him. But in the middle of the road, someone who appeared riding horse.

The man pulled Sanung Niruha onto a horse and was about to run away. I was about to throw my chain to catch Niruha, but the man threw a spear at me. I managed to jump away, and they ran away.

Everything went so fast. Apparently the person was not about to save Sanung Niruha, but took him hostage in exchange for the slaves from Wahan. Tagon enters the tower alone to negotiate, but unlucky, Sanung Niruha is killed.

I entered the tower first and saw Tagon kneel beside his father, crying. I was stunned to see purple blood coloring on his thigh, even though he had wrapped his wound with a cloth. I crouched before him, covering the wound with my palms.

"The barbarian slave killed Sanung Niruha! Chase him!" Tagon orders another warriors.

All the warriors left the tower immediately, leaving only me and him here, with the corpse of Sanung Niruha. I bandaged his thigh again so that the blood wouldn't come out again.

"Thank you," he said.

"The barbarian seems to know this. Search and kill him."

I nodded and immediately went to carry out orders.

(Tanya POV)

What did Eunsom do?

He is holding the leader in this city in exchange for us.

And he failed.

Everyone blamed us for the death of their leader. They pelted us with stones while cursing us. They all want our death.

The soldiers took us back to the Fire Fortress.

"Wh ... what will happen to us?" Asked my father, Yeolson.

"Of course your heads will be cut off," said one of the soldiers.

We started crying. We will not be able to face Goddess and become a star if decapitated. Our spirits will roam forever.

"This is all because of Eunsom!" Teodae began to get angry

"That's right, I've never liked him. He was an unlucky boy! The color of his blood is different from ours," said Dalsae angrily.

"No, Eunsom can't possibly kill the leader of this city. There must be a mistake," I tried to defend my best friend.

"Are you still defending him? He is the one who made a mess and we are the ones who suffer the consequences, while he runs away alone!" Snapped Mungtae.
