I find a cool silver dress to wear at the dance. As I walk in, Aiden waves to me. I make my way over to him. "Hot dress!" he says. "Thanks." I say. There are so many people dancing. Lily Lulu and D'amato are dancing together. I feel sorry for her but she seems to be enjoying it. We dance, as Aiden twirls me and guides me across the floor. He feels strong. He hugs me and I can hear his heartbeat. The slow song changes into some kind of fast Hip-Hop song. People start dancing and shouting louder. At one point D'amato picks up Lily Lulu and runs around, carrying her as she shrieks with glee.
I grab a few drinks, non alcoholic of course. I buy myself a watermelon flavored smoothie and Aiden a kiwi flavored smoothie. Aiden wraps his arm around me, pulling me in closer, so close I can feel his heartbeat. "Cheers to making the team!" Aiden says and we clink our glasses together and sip at our smoothies. This has to be the best way to spend a Friday. "In practice tomorrow, if you're against me, go hard on me, K?" I say to him. Aiden nods. I don't want to be seen as a damsel in distress like they say in all those Western movies.
