She just stared at him, puzzled.

"What are you doing on my doorstep? Leave, move it, rat!"

"I'm sorry? What are you doing in my house?" Zoe exclaimed, outraged by the audacity of the man before her.

"I have lived in this house for forty years!" He spat in her face, retreating into the house and slamming the door in her face.

Zoe was appalled.

"Without you, your parents never got married, therefore they never moved here," the woman appeared behind Zoe.

"What the hell did you do? What is happening?"

"You didn't want to exist, so I made your wish come true." The woman walked away, hobbling down the driveway. Zoe decided to follow her.

"Where are my parents?"

"Your mother finished college, because she didn't become a mother, and started her own daycare. Your stepfather stayed in Denver to become a psychiatrist."

"So are you saying because of me... my parents got together... if I wasn't born, then they didn't get in touch," Zoe thought out loud, the woman nodded along. A sudden realization came over her, "... what about my siblings?"

"Never born," the woman nonchalantly shrugged.

"Oh, god," Zoe paused, "can you take me to the school?"
