I hadn't spoken to Yoongi after he'd disappeared in the morning and had come back in his car with Amber. He had tried talking to me and had knocked on my door several times, but I hadn't been in the mood to talk. I'd just had enough of all the fighting and the arguing with him since we had gotten here. I'd even contemplated leaving and returning to Seoul, but as it happened, a big storm was approaching and so the ferry was closed until further notice. Maybe it was better to stay than to run anyways.
The next morning, I'd decided to go to town and buy some extra clothes, since the ones I had brought were running out. It was also a good way to get away from that sad, grey house and my depressing thoughts about Yoongi and our relationship. I knew it was irational and dumb, since communication is key in a relationship, but sometimes, you just need a break to think and collect yourself first before facing the other person.
I was on my way back to the mansion by foot, which had been a huge mistake. The little wound on my foot still hurt slightly and I had overestimated myself when it came to walking this long distance. Somehow, I wished Yoongi was here to help me, but at the same time, I didn't want to see him at all.
Suddenly, I heard a car hitting the brakes close to me and I flinched. It was a very clean silver vehicle, all shiny and the windows dark. At first, I was scared that whoever that was, may have wanted to kidnap me, but when the window pulled down, I was genuinely surprised.
It was Yoongi's brother.
"Hey there", he called out.
I approached the car, unsure of what to say or do. We had never really spoken, but we knew who the other person was and had somehow come by with a few head nods or short acknowledgements until now. Somehow, we had never had the chance for a proper introduction and I suddenly felt sorry about it.
"I don't think we've ever been introduced", he smiled genuinely and leaned out of the window. "I'm Min Geumjae, Yoongi's brother."
I nodded, telling him that I knew very well who he was. He held out his hand out of the window for a shake and I took it, introducing myself as well. He had stopped in the middle of the road to talk to me, but there were no other cars passing by. I was anxious that another car might have approached around the corner and crashed with the back of Geumjae's. He was risking a lot standing there.
Geumjae was fair-skinned, but not as pale as his brother and he was quite a bit taller. I had never seen him up-close, but the similarities between the brothers seemed to fade away the longer I looked at his face. The only thing that reminded me of Yoongi were his kind eyes, probably something they had inherited from their mother...
"Can I give you a ride?", he offered. "It's a long walk back to the house."
I wanted to say yes, but I also didn't want to bother him. Plus, we didn't really know each other. Sure, he was my boyfriend's brother, but that didn't entitle me to ask him for a favor. When he saw my hesitation, he only grinned.
"The darkened windows are just for show. I don't plan on kidnapping you", he joked.
"I didn't think you would", I smiled. "A ride would be great then. Thank you."
I got into the passenger's seat next to him. The car smelled fresh and new, the seats were clean. Suddenly, I felt out of place in my tank top and shorts I had crammed out the bottom of my bag. He stepped on the gas and sped along the curvy street downhill. I could tell that he normally drove like a maniac, but was toning it down to not scare me. I was thankful for that, although I was still scared as hell.
There was a moment of weird silence between us.
"I'd like to say that Yoongi has told me so much about you, but that unfortunately isn't the case", he smiled sadly.
