Sam's POV

I needed time alone so I flew back to the tower. I'm much faster than the jet so I know I'll get maybe an hour or so alone until the others arrive. As soon as I enter the lounge I break down into tears. It finally hits me like a train. He's gone. He's never coming back. This thought makes me cry harder. I stay in this position crying until FRIDAY notifies me that the rest are back, so I retreat to my room.

Tony's POV

I feel kinda bad. Bruce has been giving a disapproving look the whole journey. I didn't expect her to have this sort of reaction. Cyborg asks where his daughter is, to which FRIDAY responds: "She appears to be in her bedroom, but has requested to be left alone. She says she will join you all in the lounge when she is ready."

Bucky looks saddened at my AI's words, but respects Sam's wishes. Although I feel bad, I regret nothing.

Bruce's POV

I regret everything.

Sam's POV

After I clean myself up I decide that I shouldn't leave the team waiting any longer. It's been about an hour since they have come back.

I walk into the lounge to see everybody huddled up watching a film. I sit next to Dad and cuddle up to him. "Are you okay?" He asks me.

"Not really," I respond, "but I'm sure I'll be fine." Thankfully no one else decides to point out that I've arrived. As we near the end of the film, FRIDAY announces something to Tony. "Sir, it appears that the young boy you have required is awake."

I slowly turn my head to glare at Tony. "What young boy, Stark?" I spit out.

Bruce tried to cover for him. "Well you see, we didn't know if he was actually dead or ali-,"

"It's okay Banner. We just wanted to make sure he wasn't with HYDRA still. You never know with these people."

"He's 4 years old!" I counter. Dad tries to calm me down but to no avail.

"Yes, and you said you started very young with HYDRA. We just wanted to make sure," Stark says calmly.

"You're lying," I say, barely above a whisper. "You wanted to experiment on him."

"No."
"Yes." Banner face palms.

I stand up slowly, making my way towards Stark who has also stood up. "So let me get this straight," I say patronisingly. "You told me, my son-," fireballs produce in my hands and Stark staggered backwards slightly, "was dead, in order to experiment on him?!" I scream in his face.

"Uh, yes?" I let out a frustrated scream and shift into a lioness, ready to pounce on him. Everybody either leaps away or rushes forward to stop me, but it's too late. I might as well be feral. I shake everybody off and leap at Stark, only to be hit in the neck by another furry being. My eyes still lock with Stark's as I struggle against the stranger. I snap and growl from my position on the floor, my arms locked above me. The cub nudges his my face, trying to get me to look at him. I spare a look at the cub and notice it's Jason. Jay. Alive.

My eyes immediately soften and I nuzzle into him before picking him up, his neck in my jaw. I send one last hard glare at Stark before leaping away to snuggle up to my baby in my room.
