Parker POV

Everything was ready.
I hoped.

We only had a few minutes before we arrived at the orphanage.
I chewed my lip in nervousness.

Mom had volunteered to drive me, seeing as dad wasn't the happiest that I had fallen for a orphan girl with practically nothing.
He had always intended to use me as a sort of bargaining token with one of his business partners.

But dad still loved me.
After all, he had paid for Jackson King.

Mom looked at me with a soft smile.
"I hope she's here, Parker. I want to see you happy again."

I nodded.
"I hope she's here too. I want to see her happy for once."

Mom placed her hand on my arm.
"You're a good boy, Parker. You really are."

I smiled a little at this.
"Would you say I'm a gentleman?"

She laughed, giving me a look.

"When you want to be."

I smiled.
Mom pulled into the parking lot.

"God, I'm nervous,"

She laughed, punching me lightly on the arm.
"If she's really the one you don't have to be afraid."

I looked at Fluffernutter.
Fluffernutter looked back.
I nodded.
Fluffernutter blinked.

Let's do this.
