I decided to redraw a piece of art from a year ago to see how well I progressed. The colors aren't very accurate to the original piece.  I definitely need to work on creating straighter lines for my line art. I guess I'm just used to not being able to erase my line with traditional artwork. Usually I just use pen and don't even sketch with pencil because I'm just that confident. Or stupid. Most likely stupid.

When I do a sketch of what I am about to draw I usually pick a color that similar to the hair of whatever character I'm drawing. I just think it's boring if I use the same color over and over again. You can tell in the next picture that I resized the hand this was because the proportion to her face was off. Although, a lot of cartoons like bugs bunny and Mickey Mouse have disproportionate hand\face ratio I didn't want this for my character.

The dress is inspired by Princess Zelda, Princess Peach, and the Red Queen. I choose the colors based on my Character, Six's personality. Gold is associated with sparkle, glitz, and glamour. White is associated with perfection. Pink is associated with love, approachability, and femininity. Purple is associated with pride, wealth, extravagance, royalty, nobility, and luxury. Black is associated with sophistication, authority, and strength. (Information from bourncreative.com)
