Lightning in a Bottle

Most of the time I feel like my heart has been shipwrecked,
Even the wind feels extremely hectic.
Other times I feel like I am empty,
If you stabbed me I simply would not bleed,
I'm hollow; I'm fading.
Maybe it's the dire drivel of poison I create,
Or maybe it's happiness coming far too late.
I try to smile when the clouds evaporate and I free fall through the starless sky,
At least someone will love me when I die.

But you; you love me now.
You fix the fire in the sky, I don't know how.
Love is too weak a word to describe how I feel,
Thank you for making me real.

This night is lightning in a bottle,
Nostalgic Disney movies and popcorn.
Laughing until I can't catch my breath,
I know this smile is heaven sent.
It may be dark and dreary right outside,
But I am calm with you by my side.
This night is lightning in a bottle,
I could sing it's praises like an anthem.

Months pass by and I haven't had the urge to cry,
That's a victory in itself, time for some celebratory wine.
This may be the most chaotic of juxtapositions,
But I am so happy right now; even when the world is drowning in depression.
And that's all because of the airiness I feel around you,
I feel rejuvenated, I feel reborn, I feel new.

This night is lightning in a bottle,
Nostalgic Disney movies and popcorn.
Laughing until I can't catch my breath,
I know this smile is heaven sent.
It may be dark and dreary right outside,
But I am calm with you by my side.
This night is lightning in a bottle,
I could sing it's praises like an anthem.

Stars shine brighter than they ever have,
Roses are more gorgeous than ever before.
Cheeks hurt from all of the laughs,
I could not ask for anything more.
This life is lightening in a bottle,
I can't wait to catch it; celebrating with salted popcorn.
Sunrises, sunsets and everything in between,
This lightning in a bottle is my everything.
