Chapter 7 "A pleasant evening..."

Andrew was waiting for Kira outside his truck when she went out fixing her long brown hair,

"Good morning neighbor!!!" Kira yelled and went to Andrew,

"I prepared some food in case you're not yet having breakfast," Kira proudly informs Andrew,

"Well played Kira," He commented and open the truck door for her,

"Chivalry is not dead, I guess?" She said and laugh then climbed up the truck,

Andrew's POV

"ehm... what's the plan then?" I asked Kira while driving,

"hmm... I wanted to stroll around the ruins then maybe we can stay there a bit just to see if I can write anything?" She answered while drawing figures in the car window,

"Sounds like a plan," and I glance assuring her of my response,

"Have you eaten yet?" She asked while digging through her messenger bag, 

"I've prepared some morning sandwiches, knowing that it'll be a long ride, here have some" she offered the sandwich,

"ehm.. thanks," I thanked her and sandwich-cheers with her,

"You know why I moved to Ireland? It's because of your histories, I mean we also have a rich history in Asia but with all these castles and experiences, I felt like Irish people used these to move forward but for a better outcome and I felt like this can be my safe haven," She says zoning out in this realm,

"This will be your safe haven, you have my word," I assured her and entwined our hands,

"You really do have a way with your words, aren't you?" She asked teasingly and looked at our entwined hands, 

At Black Castle..

"Wow!" Kira exclaimed as she stands at the edge of the ruin overlooking the sea, "You didn't tell me that I'll be enchanted by this place, I might stay here forever."

"Well, you'll have the verdict then," I commented helping her down the edge, "Careful Kira,"

"Can we sit in the grass field?" She asked fixing her scarf, I nod and lead her to the field,

We were just sitting looking at the sea, enjoying the sound of the waves and cold breeze. For the first time in years, I felt contented, relaxed and motivated to write again,

"I went too far when I was beggin' on my knees

 When I cut my hand so you could stand and watch me bleed,

I went too far and kissed the ground beneath your feet

Standing in my blood, it was a taste of bittersweet..."

I heard Kira singing in a hushed tone beside me while she writes,

"Ehmm... What's that song?" I asked curiously,

"It's "I went too far" by Aurora, I accidentally discovered her music and I got hooked," She says while scribbling in her journal,

"I quite love the lyricism," I commented and starts reading my book again,

"You should wear your specs always, I quite love the vibe that your look gives," then she starts to walk along the field,

She belongs in this nature that I'm sure of, the way the wind tackles her hair, the sunlight that accents her beauty and that serene smile as if she finds her realm. It's been long since I have this thought and for once I will not let darkness succumb.

Kira's POV

"Thank you, Andrew It's been a very lovely day for me," I said feeling grateful,

"You're welcome, ehm... anytime, I mean you've got a friend in me" He answered grinning and I laugh at his hilarious remark,

"Never thought of you as a "Toy Story" guy" I commented and we went on the road,

We were bantering with each other through the drive when his phone rings,

"Can you ehm... accept that call for me?" He asked,

"Oh yeah, wait, where is it?" I answered while searching for his phone reaching in the back seat, "Oh! here! It's your mom" and holds the phone for him,

"Hey mum," He answered the phone and mouthed thank you to me, and I smiled in return then he WINKED! People he winked at me!

"Mum, I'm with a friend right now, we just went to Black castle, yeah.." he conversate on the phone, "Ehm... Kira, mum's asking if you would like to eh... join us for a dinner at our family abode?" he asked giving me side glances while driving,

What? I mouthed, shocked at what he asked,

"She said, she'll be glad mum, yeah, do you need anything from the store? Okay... we'll be there in 40 or so... see you, bye," then he ended the call,

"What just happened?" bewildered at what I heard,

"We'll be having dinner with the parents," He said looking straight to the road,

"Andrew, what did I get myself into? I don't even have anything for them, you Lanky man! you set me up!" I exclaimed and slap his arms,

"What? Kira, stop," he says while laughing, "It's just a dinner," then he squeezed my hand,

At Byrne's House...

"You'll be fine," He says holding my hands and went to the door, he knocked then a beautiful lady which I guess is her mom hugged him,

"Honey, glad you make it," She says then looked at me, "And you must be Kira, I'm delighted to know you, deary," and she pulled me for a hug,

"A pleasant evening Mrs. Byrne," I greeted her shyly, "Just call me Raine, dear, come along the foods waiting," She says and starts walking through the hallway,

"I think she likes you already," Andrew whispered at me and entwined our hands again,

How come his hand fits perfectly to mine?
