An hour earlier...

"Hanako-kun!"

Nene Yashiro bursts through the door of the girl's bathroom where the School Mystery No. 7 resides, only to find Hanako chilling near the window while reading a 'not-so-innocent' magazine. She blushed a deep shade of red before smacking the supernatural with a notebook she happens to be carrying. "You pervert!"

Hanako rubs his forehead where the notebook hit him and pouted at Nene. "Did you come here just for that? It hurts, you know!"

"It's your own fault for looking at those... magazines..."

He smirked mischievously. "Oh, are you telling me that you also want to take a look at these magazines? You naughty little radish..."

"No! Ugh, anyways, do you know about the eighth school mystery, Hanako-kun? Because Aoi told me about the piano at the abandoned music room playing by itself at noon..." Nene shuddered, not wanting to remember what her best friend told her earlier.

"And did she tell you about the bewitched students?" Hanako added. "And how there is one student that will not be affected at all by the piano sound?"

"Yeah, she also told me about... wait, what? There is one person throughout the whole school who is unaffected...?"

"Well, that's what I heard. But this part of the rumor was kept a secret, so not many people are aware of it," Hanako said calmly. "Do you want to know who this one person is?"

Nene nodded vigorously. Maybe if she knew who they are, she could ask the person to help them investigate the School Mystery No. 8.

"Hmm... unfortunately, that is something that we must ask No. 8 ourselves, because nobody seems to know who that one person is except for No. 8 herself."

They set off from the girls' bathroom towards the abandoned music room, with Nene deep in thought, thinking about what Hanako just said.

The School Mystery No.8... is a girl...?

And so they arrived at the abandoned music room, encountered by a ghostly pale beautiful girl whom Hanako addressed as No. 8.

Nene stared at the School Mystery in awe. She had long (h/c) hair, matched perfectly with (e/c) orbs and complemented with smooth, almost-white skin. Her lithe fingers froze on the doorknob, and her eyes are transfixed on Hanako.

"Are you the Honorable No. 7... Hanako-san of the Toilet?"

Her voice was soft and full of shyness, making Nene一 who was scared at first一 brim with excitement to get to know her better. She could sense that even though she seems shy, the School Mystery No. 8 is a sweet girl.

"Correct! And your name is...?"

"I-I'm (y/n) (l/n). Nice to meet you..." The School Mystery bowed slightly towards Hanako, before shifting her gaze towards Nene. "You are... Miss... Hanako-san's assistant...?"

Nene stuttered a bit but managed to answer afterwards. "Yes! My name is Nene Yashiro, and I'm... uhm... Hanako-kun's friend!"

"Can we come in now?" asked the School Mystery No. 7 rather impatiently, and (y/n) immediately stepped out of the way to let them in.

(y/n) sat on her piano bench with her back facing the grand piano, while Nene and Hanako sat on one of the wooden chairs that was previously used by the students when there is an ongoing music lesson.

None of them talked for a few minutes. The 2 visitors of the music room were too busy looking around and (probably) admiring the abandoned music room. Aside from the light being a little dim, there is nothing spooky about the room at all, which makes them amazed by how well (y/n) took care of her dwelling place.

"Uhm... so, what do you guys want from me?" The School Mystery No. 8 finally asked after a while, for she couldn't stand the eerie silence between them. She feels intimidated by having someone she isn't familiar with staying inside her territory.

Hanako stopped looking around and his gaze focused on her with a serious look. "I'm sorry for being so straightforward, but, who is that one person that won't be affected by your song?"

(y/n)'s eyes widen. She had never expected to receive一 out of all the questions he could've asked her一 that question from the School Mystery No. 7.

Should I tell them?

"If you're afraid that we're going to use that person to investigate you, you don't need to be. We wouldn't tell a single soul," Hanako said, as if being able to read the uncertainty in her mind.

He's the older brother of Tsukasa... maybe I can trust him...

(y/n) took a deep breath before looking up to stare at Hanako's amber eyes.

"That person....

"... is the student council president, Teru Minamoto."

Nene looks shocked by the reality. "But... but Minamoto-senpai is a一"

"Oh, I know him! He is the guy that Yashiro likes!"

Hanako cut Nene off before she could say another word, and shot her a 'be quiet, don't tell her about it' gaze. The poor girl's cheeks were already blushing furiously due to Hanako revealing her crush on the student council president, and she covered his mouth with both of her palms.

"W-wait! What on earth are you saying, Hanako-kun?! I don't have a crush on him! I just admire him as a senior, that's all!"

"But your face shows me the contrary of what you're saying, Yashiro~"

"I told you, I don't have a crush on him!"

(y/n) just stared at the bickering pair in front of her with a rather sad look on her face. This kind girl that she just became acquaintance with has a crush on Teru.

Of course he's popular, (y/n)... what were you expecting? He's kind and charming, even girls often confess to him since we were children...
