"And..." Teru then turned to Hanako who was just standing silently nearby them. "You."

Hanako lowered his gaze a little, feeling a bit intimidated by Teru's glare on him. Nene's eyes widen at the rare sight of Hanako being 'scared'. He must be an extremely skilled exorcist, even a supernatural as strong as Hanako-kun is afraid of him...

"Kou," Teru turned to his younger brother, gesturing him to follow him to somewhere more private. "Come here. We need to talk."

Kou blinked a few times before trailing after his older brother. "Uh, okay..."

"Oh my gosh!" exclaimed Nene once the Minamoto brothers were out of sight. "They have the same surname! Minamoto-kun and Minamoto-senpai!"

"Took you long enough." Hanako already seemed to be back to his normal self.

"I thought we talked about this, Kou. If you ever encountered any of the Seven Mysteries, you are to expel them immediately..."

"Urk..." Kou bit his lower lip as his brother's words sunk into his mind. He'd actually kind of forgotten about this said 'agreement' regarding their family business since he became acquaintanced with Hanako and Nene. Not to mention the abandoned music room...

"We discussed the change that has taken place in the school's supernaturals, remember?" Teru's voice became colder with every word spoken out of his mouth. "We've only tolerated them for this long... because there was never a danger of them dealing lethal damage to the students.

"But we can't say that's the case anymore. The Seven Mysteries一 no, possibly Eight Mysteries一 are the most powerful supernaturals in the school. They present the greatest danger. And we must nip that danger in the bud."

Kou tried to solve the conflict going on inside him as Teru spoke, whether to follow his beloved older brother's path and be an exorcist, or to follow his heart and live in harmony with the supernaturals, only to find himself become more conflicted. They probably are powerful, but I'm sure none of them are actually bad people, especially (y/n)...

"Actually, you know..." He spoke at last. "Lately I just... can't see them as bad supernaturals..."

"Kou," Teru's firm voice cut him off, "supernaturals will always be a danger to the living. There is no such thing as a "good supernatural"."

"But... I've never seen them do harm to others before..."

"I thought I'd let you take care of them, in the hopes it might help you mature as an exorcist to some extent..." Teru suddenly stopped in his tracks, as if realizing something that Kou said earlier. "Wait... did you just say them?"

Kou's breath hitched, cursing his own mouth for accidentally and indirectly giving away information about (y/n) to his brother when Hanako already warned him not to. If Nii-chan knows about (y/n)'s existence, he would exorcise her before she even gets to talk to him...

"N-no I didn't! Anyways, look at the time, I'm late for class! See ya, Nii-chan!"

And with that, Kou ran away from Teru, leaving the oldest son of the Minamoto Clan confused and suspicious.

My plan was to take him off the Seven Mysteries case, but it seems like he knows something about them that I don't...

(y/n) sat on her usual piano bench, her fingers ready to play the keys. She was about to start playing when the music room's door slammed open.

"(y/n)-senpai!"

Her eyes widened seeing Kou panicking and out of breath, and rushed towards him with a worried expression. "Kou...! Did something happen?! Don't tell me it's about..."

The boy shook his head immediately. He knows that if (y/n) think Teru is in trouble, she would risk her own identity to save him, and that would be a bigger problem. Not only would the whole school find out about School Mystery No. 8 's existence, but her life (even though she's dead) would be on the line as well.

"My brother... might have found out... about your existence... already..."

Instead of looking conflicted, (y/n)'s face beamed at Kou's words. "Really? Does that mean I could see him now? Was he not afraid of me?"

"No...! You mustn't, (y/n)-senpai! You don't know... what he'll do to you if he finds this place..."

The (h/c) haired girl stared at Kou with confusion and uncertainty visible on her face. "What will he do...?"

Kou really wants to tell how her plan on becoming a supernatural to see Teru again might have backfired, and how his older brother loathes supernaturals to the point where he would've let none live if he could exorcise every last one of them. But he's afraid of losing (y/n) again, because she's precious to him as an older sister should be...

(y/n) waited for a few minutes for Kou to answer, but he just remained silent as if he's afraid of saying something that could hurt her. She sighed and turned back to her piano, wanting to get back to what she's about to do. It's not that she doesn't want to interact with Kou, she just wanted to play the piano一 which reminded her of many things that happened between Teru and herself in the past.

As she was about to sit back down on the piano bench, Kou grabbed her hand. "Come with me, (y/n)-senpai!"

She blinked. "Where to...?"

"I just wanted to prove something to my brother," he said with determination in his voice. And to help you reunite with him in the way it should be.

(y/n) was still uncertain about the whole thing, but seeing Kou so determined, she didn't make any move to object him dragging her out of her sanctuary to who-knows-where. "Prove something? What is it?"

Instead of answering, Kou just smiled a warm, boyish smile towards her.

That there are such things as good supernaturals.
