"Yes, I accept your request, Tsukasa-san. But I would like to do it my way."

Tsukasa tilted his head in curiosity. "Your way?"

(y/n) nodded. "You said earlier that you want to protect the supernaturals of this school. And because of that, you want me to restrain his future, am I correct?"

He nodded. "I believe you realize that you're the only supernatural in this school that could make an impact on Teru Minamoto's future. In other words, I need you to stop him from being an exorcist. And in order to achieve that, you must reveal your identityー as a supernaturalー before him so that he would reconsider his decision to eliminate every last supernatural in this school, don't you think?"

"I understand," said the girl, and she paused for a moment before continuing. "However, I don't think it's necessary for me to do so. I have a better way of solving this without having to change his future as an exorcist."

Tsukasa's amber eyes glimmered in interest. "Oh, and what would that be?"

"I haven't really decided yet. But I have some ideas that will require your cooperation, Tsukasa-san."

I've heard enough things from the pastー from Teru's and my childhoodー that I simply ignored at that time because Teru told me not to worry about it. But after that day, the day when I found out about his abilities as an exorcist, it became so clear to me that he was born to be an exorcist.

His future was set for him since then, and nothing could change that. I was planning on revealing my identity as soon as I met him, but...

... I don't want to hurt him.

I don't want to make Teru-kun conflicted by telling him that all the supernaturals here in the school are my 'friends'. I don't want to make things harder for him.

That's why, even though I wanted to be reunited with you for eternity...

... I couldn't bring myself to carry out that wish.

"Let's wait for Sakura-san and Natsuhiko-san to come back. I wish to discuss this with them as well."

"Hey, have you heard? It's about the mysterious School Mystery No. 8..."

Teru Minamoto was just about to leave his classroom for an after school council meeting when he overheard a group of girls talking about the School Mystery that he's been interested in lately. He stopped in his tracks and glanced back towards the girls, trying to eavesdrop without them knowing.

"I heard she's just got into high school when she became a School Mystery... and that's just recently, right? I mean, the rumors about 'School Mystery No. 8' haven't been going on for more than a month..."

"Really? Poor girl... she died at such a young age..."

Teru frowned. The School Mystery No. 8... is a girl?

"And I heard that she's really beautiful... not only her piano playing but her appearance as well! According to the rumor, she's got (h/c) (h/l) hair and a pale complexion..."

"It makes me want to see her in person..."

"Same here! Oh, but you mustn't go near the abandoned music room! Her piano playing could bewitch you, you know?"

"I know, I know! I think there was a student who got bewitched recently..."

Teru sighed and continued walking to the student council room when he heard that 'School Mystery No. 8' was no longer the topic. But as much as he tried, he couldn't get the conversation out of his mind.

School Mystery No. 8... is a girl... with (h/c) (h/l) hair and a pale complexion...? Not to mention that she plays the piano... that sounds an awful lot like (y/n)...

"I still got 10 minutes before the meeting..." He murmured to himself while checking the time on his phone, and he thought for a while before heading towards the stairs located near the west building.

The gentle sound of piano playing got louder and louder the closer his distance is to the abandoned music room. By the time he stood in front of the door, he was already completely mesmerized by the melody.

So this is why she is a powerful supernatural... her music really draws people near, huh? No wonder that the student from yesterday got himself bewitー

Then the realization hit him.

I'm... unaffected...? But how...?

Teru's hand moved to hold his blade which is positioned on his left side as the piano sound slowly faded into nothing. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Usually he would just slam the door open if the creature inside the room is a supernatural, but School Mystery No. 8 is a special case.

He waited for a few moments, but there was no reply from inside the room.

Did she disappear again like last time?

He was about to knock again when a notification popped up from his phone, showing a text from Akane. He read it and sighed.

I guess I have to go to the student council meeting now, huh... and maybe I'll just have to kick the door open the next time I come here?

Teru was about to leave when he heard the abandoned music room's door being knocked from inside. He immediately turned back and saw a letter tucked inside a mauve-colored envelope being slipped out from a gap under the door.

'To : Kamome Academy Student Council President, Teru Minamoto.'

A/N : So remember in chapter 4 when Kou was able to get inside the music room without getting 'bewitched'? That was because the piece that (y/n) plays hasn't reached the refrain yet, and the rumor about her said that people could only get 'bewitched' when they hear the refrain of the song. But Teru listened to the piece until the end and nothing happened to him, so that's why he became suspicious/confused.
