[HIATUS] ♕ 𝒂 𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒆 ♕ -jibaku shonen hanako-kun

𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝟝

"So... how did you become a School Mystery?"

(y/n) looked up at the ceiling, as if trying to remember the day when she got into that accident. It was so clear on her mind, how Tsukasa approached her as she was lying on the ground with pain all over her body and blood trickling from her temple.

"It was on the day of the accident," (y/n) started, "he approached me and asked me what is my greatest wish.

"My eyes were closed at that time, and I thought that I was going to die soon, but then I felt myself being carried away somewhere. When the movements stopped, I heard his voice asking me to wake up.

"I opened my eyelids slowly, the pain still coursing through my entire body, and saw white. White ceiling, white walls, white table, white chair... and Tsukasa, looking down at me with a calm expression. At first I thought he was a doctor, because of the bangs that covered most of his face.

"I then began wondering if I'm dead, and as if he could read my thoughts, he told me that I'm neither alive or dead. Then he asked me what is my greatest wish.

"Almost immediately, the event that occurred earlier that day flashed back in my mind. About my deceased parents, the smell of blood... everything. Tsukasa seems to know what I would most probably ask for, so he said that reviving the dead was out of the question.

"The second thing that came to my memory was Teru. I remembered the childhood we spent with each other, his smile, his voice... everything about him. And also how I didn't manage to say goodbye to him before the accident happened.

"Tears welled up in my eyes, and before I knew what was happening, Tsukasa hugged me in a reassuring manner and whispered something in my ear. I didn't really understand what the sentence he said meant, but after he'd said that, the pain on my entire body disappeared and I felt my heart stopped beating.

"The next thing I know is I became one of these 'School Mystery'. I was confused, so I asked him what does all of this has to do with my wish of being reunited with Teru, and he explained to me that this is the school that he goes to. I guess that was his way of granting my wish..."

Kou stared at (y/n) with a sort of sad look in his eye. If she ever finds out about our family's history... I can't even imagine what it would be like for her...

"But," (y/n) continued, her voice was now louder and full of determination. "I didn't become a School Mystery to pursue his love, not anymore."

Kou tilted his head in confusion. "What...?"

"I only became a School Mystery in order to tell him goodbye. For the last time."

"I... I thought you came back to reunite with him, as best friends..." or maybe more...

(y/n) shook her head calmly. "No, I'm not going to be selfish. I'm supposed to be dead by now if it weren't for Tsukasa, and it will always be this way. We can't go back to where we used to be, Kou. I want him to keep on living, and let the time we spent together be nothing more than a sweet memory."

Kou bit his lower lips, trying to suppress his feelings. What should I do...?

A few days later...

"You want my personal data? What are you gonna use it for? Pervert."

"It's not p-p-perverted! I'm doing a compatibility horoscope!"

Kou Minamoto sat on the bench on the rooftop, dumbfounded, while Nene Yashiro and the School Mystery No. 7, Hanako, kept on bickering about who-knows-what, like they constantly do. He glanced up at Nene, then Hanako, then back at his lap awkwardly. "Um, why are y'all squishing me...?"

"Because Yashiro wouldn't leave me alone."

"Because you won't tell me anything, Hanako-kun!" Nene's voice sounded persistent yet desperate. "All I'm asking for is your real name, blood type, family structure, and date of death! Meanie!"

"Why would you need a date of death for a compatibility horoscope?" Hanako frowned, looking away from Nene. "if you wanna do a compatibility horoscope, do it with one of your crushes. Like Minamoto-senpai or somebody."

Kou's and Nene's eyes widen at the same time. "Minamoto-senpai?" the boy asked with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.

"M-Minamoto-senpai wasn't a crush so much as, like, a dream!" Nene stuttered a bit because of the sudden mention of her crush's name, and she suddenly was in a daydreaming state. "Like a TV personality or a pop star. You're happy just watching them, even knowing that you can never be together. He's the student council president, and he's handsome and nice and so smart..."

The rooftop doorknob clicked, which caused Hanako and Kou to look at the source of the sound, revealing Teru Minamoto himself. Kou then gestured for his older brother to come closer to where they are and pointed at Nene who seems to have not yet realized who just entered the rooftop.

"Minamoto-senpai... what a charming prince..."

Teru approached her while smiling awkwardly. "Why, thank you..."

This reminded him of his childhood, when (y/n) and himself were walking home from school and he would hear girls talking about his 'charms' from behind them, but he pretended not to notice because he didn't want (y/n) to think that he's popular and unapproachable.

Nene turned around to see the source of the voice that just spoke to her and froze. It took her a whole minute to realize that her idol was talking to her directly.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to frighten you..."

He smiled kindly towards Nene, causing the girl to not just become frozen on the spot, but to back away completely due to the shock. "Mi-Mi-Mi-Mi-Minamoto-senpai?!"

Seeing Nene already snap out of her daydream, Kou took the chance to run to his brother with a beaming smile. "Nii-chan!"

"'Nii-chan?!'" Nene became even more shocked than she already is, if that's possible. "Wh-what's going on?"

"I've been looking for you, Kou." Teru tapped his little brother's head affectionately using the clipboard he was carrying, then turned to Nene. "And you're Yashiro-san? I don't believe we've met."

Kou stared at them from behind as his brother walked closer to Nene. But I thought you picked up her pencil case once, nii-chan... is (y/n) really the only girl you ever see...?

"I'm Teru Minamoto. Thank you for always being so kind to my brother."

His closed eyes smile completely bewitched Nene, and the girl answered with glittering eyes. "Y-yes sir..."

"And..." Teru then turned to Hanako who was just standing silently nearby them. "You."

A/N - Half of this chapter is kind of a filler, but the next one will involve more (y/n), I promise >< School is killing me, and midterms are coming up, so... uhm... the next update will be kind of delayed...? But I'll try to update as soon as possible!
