A/N: I changed a lot of things in this chapter because I want (y/n) to interact more with Teru ( ̄▽ ̄) and I regret nothing. enjoy~

=====

"And I'm planning to give it to her this afternoon myself."

Teru remembered saying that sentence to Kou at lunchtime that day with investigating School Mystery No. 8 in mind, but the moment he arrived at the doorstep of a certain abandoned music room, he found himself unable to carry out his own intention. Instead, the eldest son of the Minamoto clan just stood in front of the wooden door nervously like some middle school boy waiting for his crush to come out of their classroom so that they could ask her out.

The sound of piano keys could be heard playing from the inside, and this time it was a different song from last time. It sounds simple but soft and somehow... dreamy?* Teru couldn't find the right words, but he could tell by the way No. 8 is playing it that she is probably thinking about the happy moments when she was still alive as a human, and he couldn't bring himself to disturb her even with a single knock on the door.

Why can't I barge in...? Is it because of the rumor?

"Students who listen to the sound of piano playing are usually in awe at the beginning, but when it gets to the refrain of the song, most of them end up bewitched."

He remembered hearing Akane talk about the rumor once after a student council meeting, saying that 'his beloved Ao-chan told him about it' or something like that. Teru didn't pay much attention to him at that time since the existence of School Mystery No. 8 was not confirmed, but things have been different now since he received that letter.

So, in other words, the one student who would not end up being bewitched will keep being in awe until she stops playing. Wonderful.

The piece ended with a soft high note which resonated for a while before it stopped completely. Teru stared at the letter in his hands for a while before slipping it into the music room through the gap under the door. He heard approaching footsteps from inside the room shortly after and decided to lean on the wall beside the door, waiting for School Mystery No. 8 to finish reading the letter.

One minutes... two minutes...

And no reply.

He sighed. Well, it's not like she is going to show herself to me any time soon. And I need to get rid of this weird feeling of endearment first before I get rid of this School Mystery No. 8.

"I'm happy, Minamoto-san. Thank you for agreeing to be my friend."

Teru turned his gaze sideways towards the door. He stayed silent, not believing what he heard. That voice was the exact same one as the mysterious voice who whispered to him on the day he was about to exorcise School Mystery No. 7, saying that he should listen to his little brother.

That voice... was No. 8's...?

(y/n) was undeniably surprised and confused at first when she heard a soft rustle from behind her back, only to find an azure colored envelope near the music room entrance door. But then she quickly remembered what happened the day before and she picked up the letter eagerly.

Tears of happiness flowed from her eyes as she hugged the letter close to her chest. Teru had agreed to be her friend once again, and nothing could make her happier, even though her status right now is as a supernatural that he hates with a burning passion. Even though he probably left right away after he slipped that letter from under the door.
