Getting everyone into the vans and away from the pack was easy, too easy, after the conversation with Mercer and Brickson because I thought it would have been a heck of a lot harder than it has been.

Brickson helped me load everyone into the vans, and I was surprised we had enough room for everyone and made sure that there was enough food for the trip back to the pack I was staying at, even though we didn't live that far. He wasn't going to come back with me, and I was happy and sad that he didn't.

I didn't need Mercer to know that Jack was actually at the pack that I was staying, even though Brickson had seen him go with me last night. I didn't' think that Brickson was aware that he was still there, and if he did, I prayed that he wouldn't tell Mercer if he could help it.

Instead, Corbin was in the truck with me, with both Penny and Lukas sitting behind us. He had his phone plugged into my truck and had his music on, playing loud enough that I had to close my ears. He was jamming out with the music, and every so often, I could hear Lukas giggling in the back while he bobbed his head along with the music and playing air instruments.

Corbin looked at me with his lip covering his bottom teeth, bobbing his head, and grinned. He ignored the scowl that I sent his way, his grin getting cheesier with each passing second.

Penny tapped my shoulder, and I turned down the music with him groaning, annoyed. "Do you two know each other?" she asked. "I've been watching the way that you two have been interacting with each other, and I can't help but ask."

"Yes, Ma'am," Corbin said. He tried to place his arm around me, but he stopped when I shot him a better scowl with my eyes flashing to my wolf. Innocently, he moved to the other side of the truck, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"My travels have gotten me in contact with him," I said, glancing in the rearview mirror at her. "I had to spend a couple of weeks with him, unfortunately."

"In close corners," Corbin said, giving me a sly wink, and I rolled my eyes and scowled. He grinned and nudged my arm teasingly. "That was a fun time, wasn't it?"

"No," I replied, earning a gasp of shock from the other male. "I wanted to kill myself so many times that it wasn't even funny."

"Why didn't you just leave him?" Lukas asked curiously. He leaned forward some so that he could see me before Penny pulled him back with a click of the tongue.

"We were snowed in a house together," Corbin said. "Like the snow was piled so high over the house that there was no way to get out." He shook his head and chuckled. "It kept on snowing for about seven days straight, and boy did Kellum develop cabin fever too quickly."

"It wasn't just me," I reminded him, and he laughed and nodded in agreement because he also had cabin fever. "You had gotten as bad as me and started to do random stuff, which we will not talk about." I glanced through the rearview mirror and looked at Lukas before turning my attention back to the road.

"Did you two..." Penny gestured between the two of us, and we both shook our heads, no. She was wondering if we had sex with each other during that time, which we didn't.

"We did cuddle," Corbin said and winked, and Penny raised an eyebrow while my scowl deepened. An easygoing smile was on his face, and he looked at Penny before he looked forward. "However, Kyler was in between us because he didn't want us to get too close with each other."

"Where was Aimu?" Lukas asked, talking about my stallion. He cocked his head and furrowed his brows. Worry filled his eyes, and I couldn't help but feel slightly amused and happy about him caring about my horse. "Was he over there?"

I shook my head, no, still relieved that we had to fly there instead of driving because if we could have driven, then I would have taken him with me. "He was at the house that you had visited once. Hunter was watching over him, even though he is scared of the stallion." A small smirk appeared on my lips, and I tapped on my steering wheel. "I think that he had started to like him when he was alone with him for that long."

"We wouldn't have been able to go and take care of him anyway," Corbin said. He shrugged. "We couldn't even get out of the house because of it being so bad."

"Did the electricity go out?" Penny asked, and we nodded. She furrowed her brows and looked between us. "What did you all do then?"

"We sat around by the fire," I replied. "Thankfully, the house was fully stocked with everything that we could need, and we just waited for them to come and get us." I shrugged because it wasn't that bad of an experience, even though I was with Corbin.

"Kyler had to pee in the garage. The king didn't like that when he found out about it, but he understood that he had to pee somewhere."

"And he was not going to pee in the house. That would have stunk so bad." I wrinkled my nose and pursed my lips in disgust.

"It sort of did stink, though," Corbin said, giving me a deadpanned look, and I nodded in agreement, "especially when we opened the garage door for him to go out."

"I was so happy when we were finally rescued," I said. "After the snow had dropped, and someone was able to get us out of the house."

Corbyn laughed and nodded. "If I ever get stuck in a house again, I wouldn't mind it being with you." He winked, and Lukas gagged playfully while Penny rolled her eyes but smiled.

I didn't respond but shot him a scowl before turning my gaze back to the road while he laughed. However, I wouldn't mind being stuck in a house with him for that long winter.

Next time, I prayed that they would not rescue us when we were sleeping and using our body heat for warmth.

That was not a fun conversation to have with the king since we had both been in wolf form and curled up into a tight ball for warmth.
