It was Thanksgiving and Josh was still at the hospital.
He was being discharged the next week but of course he couldn't get a lot out of the day.
Luckily Maya decided to keep him company as well as one of his old college friends.

"Can't believe you're allowing her near you. You don't remember a thing?" Chris said.
"Nope. Not a thing. I wish I did then I might have known what happened. It's killing me not knowing what happened three years ago," Josh said.
"I know it must be," Maya said.
"You told him that the two of you remind you of your parents," Chris said taking Maya back in time.

It was cold December.
Maya and Josh were sitting in his apartment while they were just drinking coffee.
They had looked at some photos earlier the night and was now just relaxing.

"You know we remind me of my parents," Maya said and Josh's eyes widened.
"Why are you saying that?" Josh asked.
"You remind me of my dad," Maya said.

Maya takes a look at Josh before she stood up walking around.
Immediately Josh knew something wasn't right but didn't know what was going on.

"Maya, what is it? Do you know what he means?" Josh asked.
"By my parents I meant my mom and Shawn. And you thought I meant my biological parents. Oh my gosh," Maya said as she pulled her hands through her hair.
"Okay, what is the difference?" Chris asked.
"My biological father left me when I was five. Shawn adopted me when I was sixteen," Maya said.
"No. How could I have misunderstood... Wait, Shawn adopted you?" Josh asked.
"What you remember is way before their wedding. Now I know what happened. Now I know why you suddenly stopped talking to me," Maya said.
