Chapter 14 - Kermit

"You... Are supposed to still be resting," Maya said as Josh gave her a smile.

Even if he has been discharged for awhile and she just got discharged yesterday she was giving him a lot of grieve about working.
She believed that he needed to tak sit easy while he believed she was the one who needed it.
Josh sighs as he throws his arms in the air.

"Sais the one who just hod discharged," Josh said.
"I had a bump against my head. I didn't have amnesia and was in ICU. What's going on with you? You're weird. Ever since I came out of the hospital you've been like that," Maya said and Josh exhaled.
"Because I have to tell you something and I know you are going to freak out," Josh said and Maya looked at him.
"Now I need to know. What's going on?" Maya asked as she looked at Josh.
"It's something I found out when you were admitted. But please promise me you won't freak out," Josh said.
"Promise," Maya said.
"I work for Kermit," Josh said and Maya's eyes widened.

She sigh as she goes to sit down on the couch suddenly feeling dizzy.
But not for the reason you would think.
She took a deep breathe as Josh sat down next to her.

"He took you to the hospital as well," Josh said and Maya exhales trying to catch her breathe.
"Are you okay?" Jooas he laid his hand on Maya's back.
"When did you find out?" Maya asked.
"Two days ago," Josh said and Maya slightly nods her head.
"I wanted to tell you as soon as possible but Cory said to give you time to rest," Josh said.
"Your brother is looking for trouble," Maya said as she stood up.
"He's just worried," Josh said.
"He's..." Maya said and suddenly felt light headed immediately sitting back down making Josh worried.

"Are you okay?" Josh asked.
"Maybe I am the one who needs to take it easy," Maya said as she leaned back into the couch.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" Josh asked as he felt Maya's head but she didn't have a fever.
"Light headed?" Josh asked and Maya nod as she pinched her eyes together.
"Okay, lay down," Josh said as Maya laid her head on a pillow.

Josh threw a blanket over her body as he didn't know how to handle the situation from there.
Of course it was crazy to think that she was able to stand up straight while she had to go through everything she did.
Josh looks at her as he grabs his car keys and heads out of the door.

"Thought I said come back after New Year," Kermit joked with Josh as he did paperwork.
"The way I feel I won't come back at all. Why didn't you ever tell me you left your daughter?" Josh asked and Kermit looked at him.
"Yeah, didn't think I know Maya, did ya? What the hell, Kermit? How could you do that?" Josh asked.
"How long have you known her?" Kermit asked.
"Ten years. What does that matter? Do you even realize what heartache you've caused for her?" Josh asked and Kermit shook his head.
"I wanted to consentrate on my family," Kermit said and Josh looked at the man.

Immediately he felt sick in more than just one way.
Just looking at the man was enough to drive him to murder.

"She is your family. I can't believe I even work for you," Josh said.
"Yeah. Neither can I," Kermit said as he put the pen down.
"Listen, this is just what we have to do for a living. We go on and eventually..."
"Do you even hear yourself? Your daughter went through hell for eighteen years and you fele nothing. You'll have my resignation letter on your desk before you leave," Josh said and left the office.
