The Leaving Day!

Your alarm that you barely remembered to set the night before goes off, jerking you awake. You scramble out of bed, throw on the clothes you have designated for this day in your drawer, and rush downstairs to get the box of Lucky Charms before Robert does. You punch your fist in the air in victory as you see that you are the first one down there. You grab a bowl and pour yourself some cereal AND THEN POUR THE MILK IN!!!! (cereal first then milk guys) As you sit down, you hear a thump and then a muffled yell and you jump. You then realize Robert has fallen down the stairs and you get up to go make sure he is ok. He seems fine so you go back to your food. He notices you sitting there and groans.

R: Will I ever get the box first again?

Y: Nope(popping the p)!

R: I thought not. I heard you come flying down the stairs and I knew it was hopeless so I took my time coming down here, but I wasn't slow enough apparently.

Y: I guess not. Did you hurt yourself?

R: Nah. I'm gonna have a bruise or two, but nothing to what you've got. How's it feeling?

Y: Quite itchy actually, it's taking all my power not to rip this bandage off and scratch the wounds until they're raw.

R: I feel the pain, it happens every time you get wounded. Itchy means healing though, which is good. We want healing.

At this point you guys are both through a bowl of cereal each, so you decide to go finish your last packing needs. Robert agrees and heads to the sink after grabbing your bowl to wash yours and his. You pass Bindi and Chandler on the way up, and after exchanging good mornings, Bindi slips a note into your pocket and whispers in your ear to open it in your room. You go into your room and slip the note out and read it. It says:

Don't try to dress up nice for Robert, it's gonna be hot in the Outback, you'll regret it and probably end up looking worse than if you hadn't dressed up nice.

How does Bindi know my thoughts? I was wondering if I should, but this answers it.

You go into the bathroom and do your hair, hoping you aren't overdoing it.

(pictures aren't working well for some, so it's the first one here: https://www.sumcoco.com/2019/03/25/45-spring-cute-braids-ponytail-hairstyles-to-change-your-look/)

You throw on a casual looking, athletic outfit to make sure you don't die of heat.

(i hope i can figure out how to make this work properly, and ensure we can get some pictures so you aren't wasting your time looking at these https://www.pinterest.com/pin/309552174375759849/)

You decide it's good enough, grab your duffel and camera bag and walk downstairs. You see Bindi give you a thumbs up, so you know you did good. Terri comes down and smiles at you.

T: I see you're ready to go, Y/N!

Y: Yes, I am very excited, I've always wanted to see the outback.

T: I'm glad we can give you the opportunity to do so then!

B: Chandler and Robert, are you ready yet?

C: Yeah, almost gotta go grab a few things then I'll be good.

R: Yeah, I'm ready, I'll go grab my bags. When do we leave?

B: In a few minutes, why?

R: No biggie, just gotta grab some extra things I might need.

B: Well hurry up then!

The boys run up the stairs and Bindi grabs your hand and pulls you to sit by her and Terri.

T: Do you mind if we talk to you for a minute?

Y: Of course not, is there a problem?

T: No, nothing too serious. Robert has approached us with an idea, and told us not to tell you, but we're going to anyway because it concerns you. As you may know, Robert is a photographer. There is a competition he wishes to enter, but he would need a partner for it, because the theme is nature and humans getting along. He originally wanted you to be his partner, but realized you would be gone by then. He was hoping you could either stay with us longer, or go back home for a month and then come back.

Y: Well, I'd love to go back and see my mom, make sure she's doing alright and such, but I don't know if I can afford that many flights here and back, it's a lot of money.

T: We figured you'd say that. Robert would understand but he'd be pretty sad. He wanted to join, but he would have to find someone else to do it.

Y: No offense, but why doesn't he ask you guys?

B: You're special to him, can't you see that? He wouldn't invite someone on a trip to the outback if he didn't care about them, he wouldn't have worried as much over you when you got bitten by Acco, he definitely wouldn't have let you wear his clothes.

Y: Wait, why wouldn't he worry about me getting bitten as much?

B: He sees this everyday and he's pretty much gotten used to it. He's seen much worse, believe me.

Y: I'll think about it, I'm not sure what to say right at this moment.

T: It's all right, you've got some time. Don't be surprised if he asks you over the trip about the competition.

Y: Ok, thank you for letting me know.

B: Of course, now everybody laugh for some reason I can hear them coming towards the stairs.

(OK GUYS, REWIND THE TAPE AND HEAD BACK UPSTAIRS WE GONNA LISTEN TO ROBERTS AND CHANDLERS CONVO!)

C: Hey Robert, when are you gonna ask her?

R: I don't actually know if she likes me enough for this, I will try to see where she's at on this trip.

C: Sounds good! You'll be fine relax, I'm sure she loves you.

R: How do you know this?

C: A, she wouldn't have gone on two dates with you-

R: HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU, THOSE WERENT DATES!

C: Quiet down Romeo, they're gonna hear us. Now where was I? Ah yes, she never would have agreed to wearing your clothes, and she wouldn't have tried hard to look like she wasn't dressing up for you, without looking like she wasn't dressing up for you. Make sense?

R: Not even close. How do you know all of this stuff?

C: I have a fiancé. Live with it. Sorry, we should probably head back downstairs now.

They walk towards the stairs as they hear the girls break out in laughter, Chandler couldn't resist one more poke at Robert.

C:At least she gets along with the family!

Robert chose to remain silent. They headed back downstairs with their bags and Terri told them to pack the car and say goodbye to Stella and Piggy and get out the door. You all jumped up, ready to get going. You finished your goodbyes and jumped in the Jeep, which has everything you could possibly need in the outback.
