"Thanks Stella" sabi ko at nagbayad
I went back to the table, Marco sitting in front of me. Tapping his finger on the table, avoiding eye contact.
We're so awkward right now.
"Y-You usually order cheesecake and coffee" panimula niya
"Correct, but I like ube cakes and matcha too and you don't know that" I said
"Ah...ganun ba" sabi niya
"Isn't it vice versa too? We've known each other since then but we still don't know each other that well" I said
"What do you mean?"
"Marco stop playing dumb. I know, you know what I'm talking about" sabi ko
"Kali-"
"Sabi na nga ba eh. Spy mo talaga si Esran no?" Sabi ko, di maipinta ang kanyang mukha. He must have been shocked as hell.
"You texted me just after I left Esran. Esran was being weird telling me stupid things like talking to you. I've figured it out Marco. Di ako tanga"
Everything I said was just a wild guess, but his face says it all. Its telling me that my hypothesis is correct.
"I'm sorry" he apologised
"Saan? Sa pagsabi ng mga masasakit na salita? Sa pag iwan sa akin sa ere? O yung sa pinagmukha mo akong tanga? Yung pagsinungaling mo sa akin ng ilang taon? The fact that Miles is your cousin? Which is it?"
Hindi nakasagot si Marco at nanatiling tahimik.
"Alam mo yung masakit? Its the fact that you hid it from me. You PRETENDED and LIED to me." I said, emphasizing the word "pretended" and "lied"
"Okay sana eh. Okay sana kung sinabi mo sa akin. I don't care how long, okay lang sana. Pero yung malaman ko pa sa iba? Masakit eh" sabi ko
"The whole group knew! Tapos ako? Ako na bestfriend mo? Ako na laging nandyan para sayo? Ako na sinuportahan ka all this time. You couldn't even trust me?" My voice is starting shake, ayoko please. Ayokong umiyak ulit.
"That's not it Lira, please listen to me" sabi niya
"Marco kahit ano pang explanation mo, it's clear! Alam ko naman kung bakit ayaw niyong malaman ko eh. Alam niyo kung gaano ako kadesperada. Alam ko!"
"Pero ang sakit parin kasi nagsinungaling ka. I know I lie too but this is another level Marco. Nakakasama ng loob. I never knew that you could do this" I said
"Kalirea, have you ever even considered my feelings? Akala mo ba ikaw lang nasasaktan?" He said
"Nasaktan ka pa sa lagay na yan ha?"
"Sagutin mo ako Kalirea" sabi niya
"Shouldn't I be the only one hurting? Bakit ka naman masasaktan? Eh ikaw yung nanloko ng tao." Sagot ko
"Kalirea, ang dahilan kung bakit hindi ko sinabi sayo, ay dahil natatakot ako" sabi niya
"Saan?" Tanong ko
"Natatakot akong magkakabalikan kayo. Natatakot ako..."
"Natatakot kang maging masaya ako? Is that it?" I said
"Natatakot akong mapunta ka sa iba. Natatakot akong sumaya ka sa iba. Natatakot akong mawala ka sa akin" He said
I was taken aback from the words he just said.
