It was the next day.

Last night, when Renjun got home, he didn't happen to see Jeno come home.

He kept an eye out to see if jeno got back, but soon gave up, seeing as the other boy most likely wasn't getting back anytime soon.

Renjun wouldn't be surprised if Jeno was out doing something he wasn't supposed to. He didn't even know the boy, but something told him that was his personality.

Renjun got to school and walked straight to his locker.

Just as he was about to go to class, he felt someone tap his shoulder.

He looked over his shoulder and was met with the piercing gaze of none other than Lee Jeno.

Renjun sighed. It was so early in the morning. He had expected this would happen, but why this early?

"hey pretty boy," he heard Jeno say.

Jeno's eyes were staring at Renjun's, practically penetrating his skin. Renjun looked down. Jeno was much taller than Renjun and next to him, he managed to make Renjun look tiny.

"Jeno, what do you want?" Renjun asked, his tone so quiet it was almost a whisper.

Seeing the older get scared only made Jeno smirk.

"from now on I want you to do what I say. You're the new kid, which means you follow my rules," said Jeno, still looking into Renjun's eyes.

He pushed Renjun back onto the locker. Renjun was quiet. he was confused. He had never done anything to Jeno, and instead, he just gets treated like this. Jeno had no reason to threaten him like this.

Jeno still had his hands on Renjun's arms, holding them down so that he couldn't move. The two were now so close that Renjun could practically feel Jeno breathing down his neck.

"Jeno. why do you do this?" the shorter boy asked, trying to sound calm and steady his breath.

He felt Jeno's hold on him tighten, but before he could hear an answer, the bell rang, signalling the start of class.

At this, Jeno kicked Renjun in the shins, hard, and then walked away, leaving Renjun stunned.

Renjun looked at his wrists. there were two red marks where Jeno had been gripping them. The boy had to force himself not to cry out in pain. Both his wrists and his shin where he had been kicked were practically burning, but Renjun ignored it, picking up his stuff and walking to class.

"Jeno?"

It was currently lunch. Jeno was sitting with two of his other friends, Jaemin and Jisung.

"Yeah?" he answered.

"Don't you think you're a little too hard on the new kid?" asked Jaemin, concerned.

Jaemin had known Jeno most of his life. the two were best friends for as long as they could remember. Along with Jisung who they met in elementary school.

"no," Jeno answered, giving off a slightly cold feeling. "It's not like any of this is going to matter in the future. I'm probably not even gonna see him at all, other than at school."

Jeno thought a little before adding, "plus, I get what I want."

Jaemin debated whether or not to push the conversation any further. He trusted that Jeno had his own reasons for doing this. Ever since four years ago, when they started high school, he couldn't help but feel his best friend change a little bit. Not necessarily around them, but around the other people in the school.

"I know, but I just feel like you shouldn't be too mean to him." Jaemin stated, "Renjun seems like a good person, and he just moved here from China! you can imagine how hard that would be."

Jeno just shrugged it off, changing the topic of the discussion.

"so, do you two wanna come over tonight?" Jeno asked.

Jisung shook his head. "Sorry, I can't my parents want me to stay at home for a family dinner or something."

Jeno just nodded and looked over at Jaemin.

"I have work," he said.

Jeno sighed. It looked like he would be working alone today.

For the rest of the break, the trio continued to talk amongst themselves happily while eating their lunch. The conversation that Jeno had had with Jaemin kept coming back to his head. He hadn't known that Renjun just moved here from another country. For a second, he couldn't help but feel bad for the other boy.

But Jeno immediately pushed the thoughts out of his head and continued to eat his lunch as if nothing was wrong.
