'alright brat, listen!'

a detective threatened as phoenix hid more int he corner of the dark detention center, while they still didn't believe his story about his mother died and how it came to be, she was still missing, so they had to put up an investigation, they treated phoenix awfully, they harassed and even abused him to the point of tears

'if you waste our time anymore with your stupid story, i swear your going to regret it!!'

'...i-i'm not, ...l-lying!, ..i-i swear'

'DO YOU WANT US TO HURT YOU!!, TELL THE TRUTH!!'

'NO, NO!!'

phoenix screamed terrified as he cried silently to himself as he hid in his knees, shaking badly, the detective tossed him on the ground, and kicked him in his stomach, phoenix gasped as he held the area he was kicked in

they eventually just gave up on him and left him alone in the detention center, where he just silently cried to himself, he was alone, scared, and knew he was already gonna lose this case, this was nothing like he read in the law books, the law was supposed to be about justice, ...right?, so why was he being treated so awfully, he was the innocent one

(in court)

'NO PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME!!'

9 year old Phoenix begged as tears threatened to spill, this was getting bad, nobody was believing him, the fake evidence they had was winning, the judge banged his gavel loudly, scaring poor phoenix as he shut his mouth (it's not the same judge we know and love, it's a different younger one)

William Wright, is here by declared "NOT GUILTY"

That loud banged echoed across the room, however, all Phoenix could hear was his heart shattering, the murder, the mom who killed his mom, the man who abused him, was found not guilty, the last thing he remembered was seeing the lawyers face, who just had a knowing smirk on him, he knew his client wasn't innocent, he knew it, but he didn't care

this was all wrong, the justice system wasn't supposed to be like this, they were supposed to bring peace to the world, to ensure that people wouldn't suffer, to make people feel safe again, so why didn't he get any justice, why did the murder get off, why did they forge evidence, this wasn't how the system worked, ...right?

Phoenix was the last one in there, just staring at the ground, motionless, broken, ...this was the justice system, wasn't it?, ..everyone in it was corrupted and awful, and to think, he dreamed to be one of them one day, well that dream, was long dead now

he stood their for what seemed like hours, just thinking about the kind of punishments he will receive, the horror about to come of him, not even in a few seconds later, his father showed up right in front of him, with that same damn smirk he had, phoenix started at him with no mention at all, he was broken on the inside, he was now alone, with his father, his mother would always try to protect him, but now, he had to do this all by himself

'what did i tell ya, i told you mistake, they would never arrest me'

phoenix just shook his head as he spoke in a serious voice

'i wish they did, your a murder, who should be burning in hell'

he glared, and it wasn't the cute angry one anymore, it was the same glare his mother would give willam before her death, his father took him by his arm and slammed him into his car seat, the entire ride home, phoenix was bracing himself for the worst, he even almost started crying, the moment they parked in the driveway when they got inside, phoenix was hit over the head with a broken glass bottle, it shattered all over him, he was pinned down to the ground by a shoe on his chest, pressing tightly against him

'COME HERE YOU LITTLE SNITCH!'

even now phoenix was still traumatized from that day, because that was the day, whatever childhood he had left, was stripped away from him
