in the lobby, phoenix was reading over his notes to help him out in the next trial, while lana sat next to him on the red couch, she really couldn't believe phoenix was going this far just for her and her sister, ..she thought on her words before she said

'...There's no stopping you is there, Mr. Wright?'

she said in her usual formal refined tone of voice, phoenix sighed as he closed up his notebook, no, ..nothing was gonna stop him, not now, not ever, ..he was giving up and leave ema all alone

'yeah..'

he mumbled to the both of them, it was silent for a moment before she stated to him

'You called for Jake Marshall. It seems you've figured everything out'

 phoenix narrowed his eyes at her then at the ground, ..in a way he did, ..he had a good idea on what was going on, ..marshall stole his ID card and used that to get inside, meekins saw him and asked for it, ..however he was suddenly attacked, ...but what he didn't understand was why?!, ..why would marshall do all of that and risk getting fired

'..not everything'

he admitted, if he had to be honest, ..lana didn't seem so bad..,..she was like mia in a lot of ways, ..so he couldn't hate lana all that much, it also didn't help that she was mia's friend.., meaning mia held lana in a special place in her heart.., ema cut into their conversation, she had come back from the vending machine after phoenix gave her some money to buy herself something, ..when she noticed how serious both of them looked, she bluerted out to her sister

'Lana... You're the one who knows everything!'

 phoenix frowned sadly as he looked off to the side, not wanting to see the sad look in ema's eyes,  lana did as well, poor ema was a huge victim in all of this mess, ..in more ways then one

'ema..'

was all lana said, ..what could she say to her?!, ema didn't listen to her and just spoke out, letting her thoughts all out

'You always know everything! Why don't you just tell us!? Mr. Wright is trying his hardest to protect you!'

phoenix tried to cut in, knowing how had this could probably get

but lana beat him to it

'... I don't recall ever asking for his "protection."'

phoenix didn't take offence, after all she wasn't wrong, ..she never asked for anything from him, not once.., ema did, that's the reason why he was doing this, for ema, ..lana knew full well why phoenix was even doing this, for ema, ..which is why she respected wright so much, ..mia was right about him, he would go to the ends of the earth for the people he cared about, no matter how jaded and cold he seemed, he deeply cared about ema, she could see that in him, ..lana trusted phoenix, ema frowned as she gripped her backpack

'How can you be so cold... Don't you trust us? Don't you trust... me?'

ema stammered, her voice full of hurt, lana stayed quite as she frowned even more, but kept on her hard expression, ..until gumshoe came into the room and interrupted them all

'Hope I'm not interrupting anything, pals'

he yelled out, ..it was awkward silence from their, with ema looked away sadly and lana keeping on her formal expression, and phoenix just minding his business, ..it took a while for gumshoe to realize that he had and tried to back out

'Oh... Guess I am. I'll come back later.'

he awkwardly said, phoenix was the first to snap out of it as he called out to gumshoe
