The moment she said that, his mask was gone that glare turned into a shocked expression, he stared at her with wide, pained eyes, then he lowered his head, speaking in a low growl

Phoenix screamed, this was different, it wasn't like the angry yelling he did with mia before, this was screaming from pure pain and agony, his eyes teared up in anger and in grief, mai felt her own eyes water up as well

'ALL OF YOU ARE THE FUCKING SAME!, YOU TWIST THE TRUTH!, YOUR FORGE EVIDENCE, ALL TO KEEP YOUR REPUTATION!, AND THEN YOU SEND THEM BACK HOME, KNOWING THEY'LL GET ABUSED!! OR POSSIBLY EVEN KILLED!!, THEIR LIVES RUINED!!, WHATEVER CHILDHOOD AND HAPPNIESS I EVER HAD LEFT WAS GONE FROM THAT DAY'

When he stopped screamed, he panted heavily, and just collapsed back to his chair, head down, glaring at the dirty, cement floor, tears still flowing in his eyes

'..why are you any different, why should i believe you!!, ...what makes you think I'll ever trust you'

mia spook in a gentle voice, how understanding everything perfectly

'Because, I don't fight for criminals!, I fight for the truth, and i believe that the truth is your innocent of this crime!'

He still kept his head low, refusing to look up, but he was interested to hear what she had to say, truth?, .., Mia continued on, not waiting for a response from him

'I know you didn't kill him, I believe in your innocence, I will do whatever it takes to help you phoenix, .. I can't bring your father to justice, but I can help you now!'

Phoenix lifted his head to look up at her, she was serious, she actually belived in hi, ...she wanted to help him, she even had a smile on her face, 

'I'll prove to you that not all lawyers are the same, and will give you the rightful trial you deserve'

it was the first time phoenix ever spook to her so, ..gently, mia was a little startled to hear the gentleness in his voice, he was usually very hostile, it was a very nice change

'because, you don't deserve this phoenix, you don't deserve to suffer for this crime that you didn't commit, you've been suffering enough, and i want to help stop your suffering'

He didn't say anything, he just stared at her for a long time with wide eyes until, they slowly started to tear up again, Mia looked slightly taken aback, Phoenix then looked back down, tears streaming down his face, holding the golden heart pendant in his hand close to his chest, ..how long has it been since anybody aside from larry ever cared about him enough to do something like this for him, ..how long has it been since he felt loved by someone?..

He said in a grateful tone, Mia just smiled at him, he stopped crying and wiped away his tears, he was a little embarrassed to me crying in front of someone, he wasn't used to showing his vulnerability to anybody, but while it was a little embarrassing, it was also kinda nice

'..okay, ..I'll talk on what happened, ..I'll cooperate with you'

mia smiled at him, as she cheered in her head, she had done it, she had gained his trust

'..okay, ..Mia'

Mia smiled at him again, this was a start a of new beautiful strong friendship, something phoenix hadn't had in such a long, long time, sure he had larry but, maybe it was nice to have a friend who wasn't a total dumbass

'..you know, this is the first time i think I've ever seen you so nice'

he said, but their was no vemon behind it, mia giggled, this was going great
