Inosuke's POV
"What?! Got any complaints about my face?!" I bellow.
My eyes scan everyone's faces until I see the girl. She's weird. Not like any human I've ever met. A worthy rival. And she looks weird too. Especially now that I don't have my mask on. Her energy even feels differently now. Like she's angry and confused all the time.
Ubuyashiki has this long dark hair that reaches her lower back. Always annoyed. But her eyes... The same red eyes of a demon. But what pisses me off is that she and I are the same height, so she can literally stand up to me if it comes to it. And I hate it. She's a challenge to my greatness.
I raise my eyebrows and toss my arms out wide. "What?!"
She looks calm for a moment before smirking, "No complaints here, Piggy. But you looking kinda pretty though!"
The rage bubbles up in my chest and as I take a step towards her, I feel my body fall limp and everything grow dark.Your POV
"What an idiot.." I curse under my breath. "Zenitsu, can you make sure he's still alive while I start digging?"
He shakes his head quickly, "n..no! He'll kill me!"
"Ubuyashiki.. Its alright. We can handle things here if you want to check up on him and yourself." Tanjirou pats my shoulder lightly. "You got hurt too, you know!"
I am about to argue when whatever adrenaline I had left from the fight, leaves me completely. "..yeah. Alright. Fine."
He smiles at me softly, and I feel sorrow radiating off of him slightly. "Thank you. Again. It always seems like you're helping us!"
"No that's not it. I'm just making sure you idiots don't die before you have to." I grumbled tartly before walking over to where the idiot lays in the dirt.
I grabbed onto his mask and pulled it next to me before I layed his head in my lap.
He grumbles in his sleep and eventually sighs in content.
"You're too stupid to be taking uncalculated risks like that. Maybe that's why you have a concussion." I snorted as I leaned back onto my hands. "What the hell were you doing there anyways?"
"Fighting." He groaned softly.
I roll my eyes and brush some of his hair from his face to look at the bruise, which is already becoming a deep purple color. "And losing. Your biggest problem is that you never turn down a fight."
"You are the same way." He sighed before snoring lightly.
"Moron." I mumbled under my breath.
What kind of idiot.. And why do I keep running into him anyways?! I don't mind though as much as it seems. He reminds me of Sanemi a little, which is more refreshing than I had originally expected. Like the Sanemi I met when he first came to the estate to become a pillar. A cocky bastard of a man with foul language and way too much depth for someone with 2 brain cells at most.
Kazumi flutters down and squeaks anxiously at me.
"Tanjirou!" I wave him over.
He jogs over and smiles at me, "how are you feeling?"
"Fine. I have to go real quick, but I'll be right back." I pull off my Haori and place it under Inosuke's head.
"Alright, we'll wait for you to get back!" He said with a grin.
I huff through my nose and follow my crow for a few minutes before we make it to a small bridge. It looks abandoned completely. Tiny shrines lay left and in ruin, and plants overtake nearly everything.
"(Y/n)!" He cawwed out softly. "Your mission, is to stay with them for the time being."
"Really?" I groan. "I thought I already got that memo!"
"Yes, you did. But you're the only one who can manage." Kazumi declared boldly. "Kagaya says he loves you and wishes you well."
I sigh to myself, "alright."
"Breath of the moon will come easy to you in a moment of panic." He crowed as he rubbed up against my hand. "Stay safe."
With that Kazumi flew off into the trees. I look up after him confused. What the hell did he mean by 'in a moment of panic'? Me, panic? Thats hilarious! But I have to believe what information he passes onto me.. I owe Kagaya that much. I owe my crow that much as well. He's never lead me wrong before, so why should I doubt him now?
I bow my head respectfully at the shrines and then walk back to where everyone is waiting for me.On the way down the mountain, Zenitsu insisted on trying to take one of the kids with him. When the blond was being pulled away, I gave the kid one of my wisteria bags because it repels demons. "Trust me kid. You'll thank me later. Luckily for you, your siblings don't need them. Stay safe out there okay?"
"Okay.. Thank you Miss for keeping them safe!" The oldest boy said with a bright grin.
I snorted and waved over my shoulder walking off ahead of the boys.
When we left on our way to the next location, Inosuke kept trying to headbutt the trees. I guess he wanted to get his head as strong as Tanjirou's.. How strange.. But then again, this is a boy who wears a pig head.
"I grew up in the mountains! So I'm automatically stronger than you!" He boasted loudly to no one in particular.
"Oh! I grew up in the mountains too!" Tanjirou said with a grin as we stopped so I could carry Zenitsu on my back. The brunette needed a break, carrying Nezuko is enough to give you back problems, so he shouldn't have to carry Zenitsu as well.
"Don't think of me as someone you can relate to!" Inosuke hissed. "Matching my strength against other creatures is my only hobby!"
"I see.." Tanjirou said sadly.
I inconspicuously touch Inosuke's arm to get an insight on what he means. He acquired his blades by matching his strength against demon slayers, and through this method, he managed to hear about the final selection. Which was more than likely.. My doing. He didn't rely on a 'cultivator' or teacher and he seemed to directly join the demon slayers after the final selection.
"I will definitely catch you off guard and defeat you, loser!" Inosuke shouted at Tanjirou.
"My name is Kamado Tanjirou!" He shouted.
"Kamaboku Gonbachirou!! I will defeat you!" He declared boldly.
"Can you both shut up?!" I screamed above both of them.
