It took a day and a half for me to wake up. Once again I had an extensive amount of damage to myself, but I didn't care. I was just glad to be awake again. Despite being alive, i chose to take it easy and stay in the room so I didn't cause any further damage.
"Oi, is she here?!"
My eyes widen as I pull myself to the door of my room.
"Is who here?" Aoi asked.
I poked my head out into the hallway and break into a broad grin. "Inosuke!"
He let out a thrilled laugh and ran down the hallway before sweeping me up into his arms and spinning me around. "(Y/n)!"
I held onto him tightly and he carried me back into my room and set me down on my bed softly, before he frantically checked me over. "They didn't miss any injuries?"
I shook my head with a chuckle, "no they didn't! So. How did your last mission go?" My eyes narrow as I spotted a bandage on his leg. "Inosuke."
He winced, "..what?"
"What happened." I demanded with crossed arms.
He shook his head, "nothing happened!"
I raised an eyebrow, "Inosuke Hashibara. You know damn well you can't lie to me. Remove that mask and talk to me." He did as I asked and I groaned audibly as I saw his busted eyebrow. "Really? You did an awful job handling this."
He huffed and pouted, ".. Whatever."
I poured some water on a washcloth and began properly cleaning his face off. "What happened?"
"Just a little trouble on a mission, but nothing the great Inosuke couldn't handle!" He boasted before lowering his tone when he saw my unimpressed look. "Okay, the supreme mediocre Inosuke. Anyways, what happened with you? You seem different."
"I.. There was a face off between several demon slayers and two upper moons. And I got carried away and cocky." I admitted with a sigh. "I nearly died, but I awakened the demon blood in me and it saved my life." I purposely avoided telling him about that chat I had with hallucination Inosuke.
He furrows his eyebrows, "back that shit up. What do you mean you almost died?" When I remained silent, he huffed. "Be honest with me, (y/n). If I gotta be honest, then so do you. What the hell do you mean by that?"
"I mean, I got a spear to the chest, and poisioned, and run through, and electrocuted, and I almost drowned." I groaned.
"Where." He said plainly. "Where are the wounds. Lemme see."
My cheeks flush pink, "w.. What?"
"Lemme see!" He barked at me.
Reluctantly I pull open my robe to reveal my heavily bandaged torso. "Fine! There. Happy now?"
Inosuke blinked at me silently before gently pushing me back onto the blankets. My face felt like it was on fire. What the fuck is he planning?! He planted a kiss on the wound to my stomach and trailed kisses up my bandages to the wound in the middle of my chest to my neck, before pausing to look at me silently.
After a moment I covered my face, "..what?! Shout at me for being reckless! Scream! Say something!"
He reached a hand up and rested it against my cheek. ".. Don't damage yourself like this. It's gonna leave a nasty scar. I'm not used to feeling what you make me feel, so don't get mad at me if I do things impulsively. Especially things like this." He pressed his lips to mine again before pulling away, his cheeks pink. "I don't wanna see you hurt."
I sit up and rest my forehead against his, ".. It's in the job description. I can't help it, Inosuke."
He sighed in annoyance, "yeah yeah, I get it, but I don't like the fact that you're always the one getting hurt. And another thing. We're a couple. So I want a nickname!"
"A nickname?" I asked before chuckling, "like 'honey' or something like that?"
He nodded excitedly, "yeah! Something only you can call me!"
I tap my chin for a moment in thought, "hm.. How about hun or sweetheart? Im not used to using terms like these.."
"I love it!" He blurted before slapping a hand over his mouth and coughing awkwardly into his fist. "I'd like that a lot."
I pressed a kiss to his forehead, "you nerd."
"Where the fuck is that pig?! I'm gonna spit roast that thing alive!" Zenitsu kicked my door open furiously before walking right up to Inosuke and balled his fists tightly. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?!"
".. Having better luck than you with the ladies apparently." Inosuke grumbled with narrowed eyes as he pulled my robe around me tightly.
Zenitsu screamed incoherently, "how come my beloved Nezuko remembered your name and not mine?!"
"Maybe its because I'm worth remembering!" Inosuke sneered with a cocky smirk.
"I'll fucking obliterate you!!" Zenitsu pulled his fist back.
I slapped his hand away, "do you fucking mind? Can't you see we're busy?"
The blonde's eyes widen and he pulled me out of the bed, in an effort to shove me behind him. I hit the floor with a wince. "What are you trying to do to her you pervert?!"
I kicked my leg out to knock him on his ass before pulling myself up to my feet. "Dude. Back off. He's not doing anything wrong."
"B.. But he was touching you inappropriately!! Thats unforgivable!" He wailed as he rubbed his back from the fall.
"I can touch my girlfriend if I want to!" Inosuke shouted.
At the world 'girlfriend' left his mouth, it seemed like the entire estate fell silent.
"W.. What.. Girlfriend?!" Zenitsu babbled in shock. "H.. How do you have a girlfriend? Who is it?!"
"Its me, you jackass!" I snapped. "I'm his girlfriend!"
He looked up at me with widened eyes, ".. What?"
I rolled my eyes and pushed him out of the room and into the hallway. "Look. He and I haven't been together for too long. We only started seeing eachother after I woke up from the Red District incident."
"Then.. Since you're in a relationship, how do you think my chances with Nezuko are?" He said accepting my words immediately.
I deadpanned, "tone down the screaming. Take it slow. Be honest. It's not like building a house man, its as simple as holding a paintbrush."
He gave me a determined grin, "yes! You're apsolutely correct! Best of luck with the pig! I hope you find plenty of happiness!"
With that, he strolled back down the hall with a more bouncy attitude. "What a fucking idiot.." Inosuke mumbled as he pulled my Haori over my shoulders. "You wanna go get something to eat or anything?"
"Hah.. That would be amazing.." I said with chuckle.
He holds out his hand and grins brightly before pulling his mask back on. "Of course! Anything for my beautiful baby!"
