Alice's POV:

"Hey has anybody seen Darren?" I ask his group of friends as they are standing in the parking lot, ready to go home.

"He went home. Something about paying someone back." One of his friends says.

"Oh, well, thank you so much." I thank them and leave.

"Why are you telling me this just now?" Steph asks me as we drive home.

"You wouldn't have been able to focus for the rest of the school day if I had told you earlier." I tell her.

"This is way more important! And how the hell do you not know Stone Harrison? He's like the hotest bad boy of the century. Are you living under a rock?" Steph mocks.

"Steph, mafia leaders are not hot." I say. "... alright, he's extremely hot. But he's still a bad person."

"So what? People change. And you can change him, he clearly took an interest in you."

"Are you insane? I would never go for someone like him." I tell her, I don't mean this as an offence, but he's not my type at all. I'm not into bad boys. I'm into mature, responsible men. Like Collin.

"Oh yeah, I forgot, you only go for guys like Mr. Scott. The daddy issues thing keeps slipping my mind." Steph says and I blush at her words. Many girls have daddy issues, so what?

"Poor Darren, I hope he pays him back. I don't wanna fail Math when Stone kills him, he always gives me test answer-keys." Steph says and I budge her shoulder.

"Wow, party looks better than last year." Steph says as we enter Jake Taylor's house. It is very crowded here, and there are people from outside school. Many are drinking, kissing, dancing, and smoking weed, of course.

"I don't really like this..." I say.

"Come on! Don't worry, its gonna be fine." Steph assures and takes two red plastic cups from someone. She drinks hers in a second and I put mine aside. "Steph! We don't know what was in the cup!" Looking out after Steph is tiring, I swear.

"Ugh, whatever! I'm gonna go look for Jake Taylor!" she squeaks and leaves.

Well, I don't dance, I don't drink, and I definitely don't smoke, I think I'll just look around.

I go outside for a while to get some fresh air, and I spot a black G-Class, black windows, black everything. Its kind of weird, I've seen this car a lot today, when I left school, it was parked outside, and when I arrived home, it was parked a few feet away from my house. Huh, weird.

Steph is nowhere in sight, and its been an hour since we arrived. I'm on the third floor, knocking every door, asking for Steph, but nothing.

"I need a bathroom." I think to myself. My legs are tired from searching and I need to sit alone for a couple of minutes.
