Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Rupert Holmes
-Lily's POV-
"This is perfect! You and Sirius," Mary starts, pointing to Marlene. "And you and James! It's like a date for both of you!"
"Which just leaves you and Remus," I respond, shutting her up effectively.
Marlene, Mary and I were right outside Hogwarts, loitering; waiting for the boys to come. Alice and Peter wouldn't be coming; Alice was with Frank, and I don't know what Peter was doing. And as if reading my mind, I see the three boys come stumbling out of the door as if they'd been running.
Sirius was wearing his normal leather jacket, white shirt, ripped black jeans. Remus was wearing his normal gray jumper and some khakis.
My eyes turn to James, and I blink. Disheveled hair and crooked glasses to go with the crooked smile planted on his face. I swallow, and avert my eyes before my mind goes and thinks something it shouldn't.
"Oi! Better not be leaving without us, girlies!" Sirius shouts.
"I dare you to call me girlie one more time," I tell Sirius. He opens his mouth as if to respond, but Remus speaks before he does.
"I wouldn't," Remus mumbles at Sirius.
"You should know better, Pads. You have some experience," James adds.
I could think of many times that Sirius had received the end of my rage, and several of those times had ended up with him, or both of us, in the Hospital Wing. There was the time he'd broken my arm-I will give you only the luxury of guessing how that happened-and I had rounded on him, punched him in the face, and kicked him in the balls. Or the time he'd made fun of Snape-Severus and I had been friends at the time-and I had charmed his hair an awful green for a week (and we all know how much he cares about his luxurious locks). Or perhaps when he'd 'accidentally' added an explosive stink bomb of some sort to my cauldron in potions, and I had retaliated by whamming my hand down on his shoulder. I had accidentally hit a pressure point on his neck, though, and he had... well, passed out. Accident, I swear!
"Well then, I'll restart. Wotcher, Lilyflower," Sirius restated with a smirk.
"You has better not call me that either," I respond.
"Oh but I would very much like to."
"Oh, but I'm sure you wouldn't very much like another broken nose, eh? Can't mess up that beautiful face, can we now?"
Sirius just stuck out his tongue at me. I know, we're all very mature.
"Alright, enough bickering. Let's go get some butterbeers," Remus recommends.
"OUT OF THE WAY! MARAUDERS AND COMPANY COMING THROUGH!" James yells. Remus drags his hand down his face.
"And company? We're company?" I ask, mock-affronted.
"Fine. MARAUDERS AND MARAUDETTS COMING THROUGH!" James screams even louder.
"No, that's even worse," I respond.
James ignores me, and we both are now walking ahead of the crowd when I hear snickering from behind. I fall back.
"What? What's so funny?" I ask Marlene who's laughing with Remus, Sirius, and Mary.
