Chapter 2: Old Friends

"Man, what a day" Sonic yawned before sitting into their couch

As usual, he got into his phone and began checking his social media accounts to see if anyone had messaged him. However, he came across on a post made by their friend, Rouge. It was about her new song. It quickly became trending

"Oi Shadow! Look!" Sonic called

Shadow just got out of his room. He looked at the Sonic who kept scrolling into his phone. Shadow sat down beside the hedgehog

"What?" Shadow asked

"Rouge's new song is trending! It had so many streams just a few hours ago" Sonic said in awe, holding is phone up on Shadow to see

"Whoa my eyes! It's too close" Shadow slightly backed away before looking at the device again

His eyes widened and smile

"You know Rouge. Everybody loves her song, it's always catchy, has a deeper meaning into it, and the official videos are magnificent too!" Shadow proudly stated

"You sound so formal at the end of your line" Sonic looked at the ebony hedgehog

Shadow's phone vibrated. This catches both of the hedgehogs attention. Shadow pulled his phone out of his pocket.

"Rouge" Shadow said before reading her message

Sonic nodded and got back into his own phone, wanting to know more about Rouge's newly released song

Rouge: Hey hun, how's the fan meet? <3. By the way, did you see my new song?

Shadow: It was fun but exhausting, as usual. And yeah, I saw your new song already. Still haven't listened to it though.

Rouge: Oh, that's fine. But you should really listen to it. I also wanted to hear what you think! I made it because I kinda have you and Sonic on my mind. It's about friendship though.

Shadow: Really?! Well, I would definitely listen to it. Right now, Sonic's watching the official video. It's kind of sweet of you to make a song about us. It's really pleasure Rouge

Rouge: Aw thanks sweetie. Welp, gonna go now, kind of have a busy schedule right now. Just really wanted to talk to you. See you soon! Tell Sonic I said hi! Mwah!

Rouge. Shadow's long time friend since high school. Also got into this type of career. It was her dream since she was a 5th Grader to be a celebrity.

She was also with the two hedgehog when they almost quit their career. Encouraging both, specially Shadow to continue. She was there to support them, even until now.

But believe it or not, she was one of the hardcore 'Sonadow' shippers. She was also responsible for making some  fanfics about the two. There was no kissing or anything like that, just fluff.

"Whoa, there's so many names you two throw at each other" said Sonic who was leaning at Shadow, cutting the ebony hedgehog's train of thought

"You know Rouge. But it's not really what some people the people think. Specifically, what you think" Shadow put his phone back at his pocket, clearly emphasizing 'you' on his sentence

"Speaking of music, I really want to talk about our upcoming album! I'm so excited at releasing our 5th album! Ah, can't believe it's already our 5th one" Sonic rubbed his hands

"Of course. Time flies fast. Next thing you know you are a 50 years old grown adult, with kids and your wife" Shadow said, putting his hands at the back of his head

"I miss my high school days. When we were only on our debut. Along with Rouge"

"Yeah. It's been since when we see Rouge in personal" said Shadow who furrowed his brows

"Right. But Rouge said she was busy right? How about we set plans next week? I'll bring Tails along. Is that fine?"

"Of course. How about your girl, Amy?" Shadow smirked

"Come on Shads! She's in Japan with her parents. She has a tight schedule too" Sonic frowned at how Shadow addressed her

Memories came back when they were only in high school. Where Amy would say she'll marry him, give him deadly hugs. It was ridiculous.

But he have to admit, he missed her. All of them. Where their only problems were their school activities, exams, quizzes.

"How about a reunion? With our classmates on the fourth year? Everyone is still alive you know" Sonic smiled

"We're gonna have to talk to our manager then" said Shadow, unsure about Sonic's idea

Sonic patted him at the shoulder

"I'm sure he would agree. It's just been work, work, work, and work! I mean, we have to get some time for ourselves to you know. Short rest won't be much of a bother!" Sonic exclaimed

"Alright. Then we're going to have to talk about that tomorrow" said Shadow before he stood up

He was about to leave, but Sonic called his name

"Where are you going?" Sonic also stood up from his seat

"I'm gonna sleep. We still have to practice for our choreography tomorrow"

"It's just 10 PM" Sonic looked at the wall clock

"We need to sleep early. You don't wanna get tired you know?" Shadow said now fully facing Sonic

"Ah, alright, you go ahead and sleep. I'm gonna stay here" Sonic sat back on the couch

"You better sleep before it's midnight. It's not good for your health. Come on, you don't want Amy to see you on TV having bags under your eyes, right?" Shadow returned his teasing smirk making Sonic roll his eyes

"Surprise it's coming from you, hun" Sonic teased back and snickered

Shadow raised his brow in confusion. Until he made an 'oh' in his mouth and chuckled a bit

"Alright. You got me there. Good night Amy" Shadow waved his hand walking to his room

"Goodbye sweetheart" Sonic raised his voice a little

He lay on the couch and looked at the ceiling. Rethinking the names of his classmates. He got into his phone again and began searching.

When he searched their names, the familiar faces appeared. Sonic smiled to himself. He began messaging them one by one. He really missed all of them.
