Chapter 3: Past

The people in the room and so does their manager applauded as they have managed to complete practicing their choreography

Both pair smiled and sat down on the floor. The staffs gave them towels. Their manager approached them and explained some of their mistakes at some of parts

"That was great. But Sonic, you need a little bit more practice. You are great at dancing with your upper body. But your feet doesn't move. That is the only problem. Good job for the both of you" Their manager gave them a thumbs up

"Uh, Manager, can we see our schedule for this week" Shadow stood up

"Oh yes. Sorry, I forgot about that. Tomorrow, we will film the first part of your song 'Grateful'. On Thursday, we will do the other parts. Friday, we will practice other choreography " Their manager explained

"Uhh, we have uhh, a little request. If we can?" Shadow shyly asked

He looked at Sonic and made a gesture for the azure hedgehog to notice Shadow.

Sonic looked up to see Shadow making a 'help me' face. Sonic stood up and wiped the sweat on his forehead once more

Before both pair could talk, their manager had spoke up

"Why of course you can! You have always work hard on everything. So, continue," Their manager nodded

"We were planning on having a reunion with our high school classmates next week. But if we have something important to do, we can move our reunion the other week. B-but that is if you will agree with us" said Sonic

Their manager have always been nice to them. It's like he's their own father base on how he act and cares for the pair. He brings no pressure to them and encourages them. Giving them enough rest, but sometimes, pressure is inevitable. But Sonic and Shadow clearly understood that

Their manager chuckled and looked at them through his glasses. He smiled at the two hedgehogs, who were whispering at each other, giving quick glances at the older male

"Of course you can! You two are very hard working and you learned the choreography well, as well as the other things doing with the upcoming album. That will be no bother" Their manager patted the two

"Thank you Sir" Shadow nodded

The manager nodded and head back to his room, reviewing their choreography and planning their next step for the album

"Phew. Told you, manager will agree" Sonic grinned

Their last batch in high school, the numbers of their classmates wasn't that many. But also, wasn't really that less number of people in the class. It was only enough for them. It wasn't hard for Sonic to message almost everyone in one night.

"Do you remember Blaze?" Shadow put his hand on his chin, memorizing each name, checking if he had forgotten someone else

"Yeah. Silver's girlfriend, right?"

"That hotheaded echidna?"

"It's Knuckles!" Sonic clasped his hands together

Oh, they haven't talked to him for a long time. Last time the Knucklehead told them was he had a part time job at a bar to help his mother's dialysis.

The poor Knux don't know what to do that time. Since their father left him since he was a kid. He was struggling for money. He would often be absent at school. Tails and other of his friends helped him do his school works. Knuckles can't thank them enough.

They didn't know where Knuckles got into college or what course he got. Since them they have never talked to him.

Luckily, last night, Sonic have manage to found his account on Twitter. Sonic had a long time searching for him.

Knuckles haven't replied back to Sonic yet. In fact, no one did. Of course, Rouge was the only who did

Most of them are in a different country now. Tails is currently a doctor and is doing a research. But they also haven't talked due to their busy schedules now and these past months.

That was all Sonic know about them for now.

The pair walked back to their room to rest. After that, they will practice start to practice other choreographies on their own.

Rouge sat down on the couch, sighing tiredly. She removed walked into the bathroom and removed her makeup.

She was invited to a TV show. She was only a guest and had an interview, but it tire her out. She hadn't got any rest this week. She was busy filming her newest song. But her restless and sleepless nights were worth it.

Many people loved the song, so does Sonic and Shadow. It wasn't really only made because of the two hedgehogs. But to all of her friends.

But excitement added to happiness when she heard their last batch will have a reunion. Of course, she quickly replied back at Sonic.

She also already contacted the others, specially the girls

She checked her laptop to see if anyone had replied back. It was only Amy and Blaze.

Rouge grinned excitedly as she began replying back at the two. Amy said she will try to persuade her parents on letting her go to the reunion.

While Blaze, she said Silver will go at the reunion too. She felt happy for the two couple. Since their first year in highschool, Silver was courting Blaze that time. He sometimes seeks help in Rouge if she prefer this or that. Silver finds help to the boys, asking them if he could help him court Blaze.

When Blaze broke up with her first boyfriend, Silver was there to comfort so often than Rouge. That is when Blaze saw how Silver was determined and really cared about her.

She already had fallen for the hedgehog, but of course, she wanted to see if he how willing he is to wait.

Silver became more determined and waited. At the end of their fourth year, Blaze finally accepted Silver.

Reminiscing the almost romantic memories, Rouge also remembered the time she had a crush on Shadow. She became a little flirty around him,  hangout with him, sometimes she would go to their house. After a few months, she confessed to the hedgehog.

There was a slight feeling of dread that he will reject her. Her usual confidence fade that day. But Shadow took her hand and accepted her feelings.

It was one of the best days on her life.

After their debut, releasing their first album and all, the two broke up. Of course, it hurted Rouge.

They had a long distance relationship, it was hard for both. Mostly for Rouge.

The three auditioned to the same company, but unfortunately, only Shadow and Sonic was accepted. Rouge auditioned to a different entertainment and quickly got accepted. They became very busy.

There was a one 'rumor' that spread about the couple. It was about them dating.

It became a dating scandal, ruining both company's reputation. For the sake of the company, and for the sake of them and their career, they broke up.

Luckily, the scandal got down as soon as it came out.

Rouge thought it would be awkward for the two, but nothing changed. They even got closer when the time Shadow was about to quit the company to end his career.

Rouge turned her laptop off and lay on her bed. She sighed at the memories. It was unbelievable on how they got here now. How things went for them.

Amy said her parents approved her to go back to America for their reunion. Her flight is already on Saturday.

Rouge's manager had also agreed about the reunion.

Rouge closed her eyes as she put down her phone in the nearby desk. She can finally rest.
