Chapter 13: Jealous

"Seriously?" Sonic raised his brow in annoyance at the story Knuckles is telling them

"I know right. My previous boss was an asshole. But gladly I found a better job. Also, my mom told me dad was contacting her" Knuckles frowned as he chugged the drink

Usually, they all don't really drink thid much.  But since this is a special occasion, so why not make things different? It's been almost been a decade since they got to see each other again anyway.

"Wai- whoa? Really? What did you say?" Sonic got a handful of chips as he continued to look at Knuckles

"Well, of course, I was angry and told my mom to block all the contacts dad have with us. She told me to give him a second chance," Knuckles looked at the ceiling and clenched his fist

"If it wasn't for my mom, I will never give him another chance. After all these years? After all the years I even searched for him and he will suddenly show up when me and my mom are already well? I even think he's just fucking with us" Knuckles chuckled

"Dude, you know, I think you should give him another chance. I mean, you should hear him out first" Shadow looked at the echidna

"Yeah, that was what my mom said too. I also just can't force my father to leave us alone again. Mom's beginning to be happy with him again anyway. I just feel like I'm not needed there anymore" Knuckles sighed as he lie back down on the couch with his hands resting on his head

"No buddy. You got the wrong idea. Your dad's just trying to find the right time to talk with you. He's just making it up with your mom first. We understand how you feel. You've been good for the both of them" Tails smiled

"I don't know. But I sure hope it turns out well. I just hope I would still feel even a little bit of respect when I see talk to him" Knuckles took his phone out of his pocket

"Uhh, wait guys. Mom's callin'" Knuckles head off without looking behind

"Poor guy. When we were on our way here, he was ranting me things like this. He is really drained and stressed from everything. I'm really glad that we contacted him. He td me we guys are the only ones he can really lean on. Despite of our lack of communication due to busy work and necause of the works and things we all still needs to do, we made time for this special event. Especially on Knuckles. He was having a hard time being in touch with us" Tails sadly smiled

"Well then, let's really make this time memorable! This time where we could feel and act like our teenager selves!" Sonic widely grinned as he chugged down another glass

"I think I'll pass on the drinks now. I don't wanna fall asleep. Might as well see your drunk ass do some crap. Oh well, this is my last one" Silver said as the glass was passed to him

"Oh hey, Knuckles!" Tails waved

"That's kinda quick" Shadow raised a brow as the glass was now passed to him

"Yeah. She was just cheking on me. She also said dad was still with her, asking things about me and how I've been" Knuckles rolled his eyes as he sat on the couch

"Is the baddest boy in our school coming to the reunion though?" Sonic asked

"What? You mean Scourge?" Knuckles asked, looking up from his phone

"Yep, that guy" Sonic grinned

"Funny how you told me back then to call people by their names" Knuckles sarcastically spat

"I think so. Wait, aren't they suppose to be here today? Along with Mephiles by the way" said Silver as he leaned into the table to grab the remote

"Really?! With Mephiles? I mean, didn't he say he couldn't even come to the reunion?" Shadow continuously asked, reminiscing their call

"Yeah. He's truly unpredictable, huh?" Silver chuckled as he was choosing a movie

"Action, horror, or drama?" asked Silver

"Gotta go with horror man. Haven't watched those kinds of movie for ages" said Sonic, his eyes scanning the T.V

"Same" The other four said in unison

"Oh my gosh!! I honestly ship them too. I thought I was the only one who did, so I then thought I'm kinda weird" Rouge grinned as she took a sip of her drink

"Yes! I'm a hardcore fangirl too" Blaze chuckled

Meanwhile, at their room, the girls are talking about something they know the boys downstairs shouldn't hear. They locked the door and played some music on, not too loud. Just a display to show everything was going normal.

Besides, they were sure the boys wouldn't really bother coming at their room this late. They're probably still enjoying themselves as much as they do here.

"But sadly, I think there's not really something going on between the two" said Amy, feeling a little bit of jealous at the thought

"Eh? But never mind, honestly. I think they're just cute together" said Rouge, slightly being able to read what was on her friend's mind

"Okay so, new topic" Rouge continued

"Let's play another" said Amy

"Game, huh? So, what can you suggest?"

"UNO?"

"Fine, I'll join"

"I have the cards. I'm just gonna get them in my bag" Amy said before she stood up and walked towards their bed

Rouge and Blaze made eye contact, each of them gave their own meaningful look.

They looked back at Amy and Rouge sadly smile. Amy still hasn't move on. It can't be helped, Sonic was her first love anyway.
