Chapter 6: Getting Back Home
(Part 1)
(Saturday)
Sonic turned his alarm off before he sat up on his bed. He stood up and opened the door. He narrowed his eyes as bright light flashed his eyes. He raised his hand and covered his eyes.
"What the-" He looked up only to see Shadow doing the same
But the ebony hedgehog quickly adjusted to the brightness and looked at Sonic.
"U-uh sorry" Shadow apologized
"No. It's alright" Sonic removed his hands from covering his lights
Sonic blinked still trying to adjust his eyes from the light. He finally adjusted himself, but he was still slightly narrowing until he got use to them.
"When's Rouge coming over?" Sonic yawned and stretched
Sonic walked into the kitchen. He opened the cabinets and pulled out the coffee.
"3 AM. The airport is very farm from our city. Amy's arrival will be around 10 AM. Can't say we have plenty of time though" Shadow replied
Sonic looked tilted his head. He searched for the coffee machine. Shadow gulped and scratched the back on his head. Sonic put his cup down and raised a brow at the ebony hedgehog. There was a faint blush on Shadow's muzzle
"What did you do?"
Both are sometimes like this. Sonic tried not to snicker at some memories that replayed on his mind. Shadow can be destructive sometimes. Even the people know this. They found this adorable, but also worrisome.
"You know what I did..." Shadow merely replied as if he had read Sonic's thoughts
"Yep. I know. But I just wanna know how"
"The machine was hot. I accidentally punched it" answered Shadow
The pair stared at each other for a minute. Before you know it, they burst into laughter.
"Good God. I need to get away from you. You keep destroying things" Sonic joked as he playfully punched his friend
"Yeah. When I was a child whenever I helped mom do chores she would just tell me to go upstairs" Shadow opened the cabinet as he carefully pulled out his mug
"We need to hurry. Rouge might be here soon" Sonic glanced at their wall clock, which it read 2:14
"Welp. We won't have much of a privacy" Shadow smirked
The azure hedgehog snickered as he looked at his friend. He didn't bother to said something back. He can't think of what to say. He mentally frowned as he felt something twinge on his chest. A very familiar feeling. Sonic pushed the thought off his mind.
"I won't drink. I'll just buy breakfast on our way to the airport" said Sonic before he return his mug to the cabinet
"Alright. You go to the shower first" Shadow replied and did the same
"Don't you want to shower together? It might be faster" Sonic smirked back, satisfied at his come back
Sonic thought the strange feeling would go away. He thought he was only embarrassed because he can't think something to tease his friend back.
It only got worse. It was as if the feeling was dominating every fiber of his being.
But is Shadow really 'teasing'?
Shadow was taken back by this that he slightly step back and raised a brow. He calmed down before quietly chuckling at himself.
"If you want to. Let's do it" Shadow grinned
