Chapter 4: Long Time No See Buddy!

"By the way, you are scheduled to a fan meet next week Tuesday" their manager said before typing something on his laptop

"Is it good?" asked Shadow

The manger first looked at him I'm confusion, but as realization hit him, he nodded and got back to his laptop

"Yes. Of course it is" The manager simply said

"Hey Shads, let's go a bit for a walk" Sonic stood up from the bench and looked at the park

"Yeah sure" Shadow replied

"Manager, we'll be back later" Sonic saluted

The manager looked up and chuckled a bit

"Alright, go on. Just be walk nearby the park, okay? " The manager nodded

This place was very far from their city, it took them good 2 and a half hours to get here. Even though the outside, there are pack of rambunctious teens, full of children, but there is no one here.

Not even children are here to play. Now they knew why the manager picked such far place from theirs

They have to stay at a hotel later. Then they will film again tomorrow.

"Oi. Amy, Blaze and Silver will also go to our reunion next Saturday" said Sonic whilst walking

Both sat on the swing. Oddly enough,  they felt a wave of nostalgia by seeing the park. They used to go to parks with their parents and played with other children.

At the age of 19, Sonic's mother died on a car crash. It was a devastation for both Sonic and his father. But they never give up. Instead, Sonic put so much effort in studying and other just to get an A+.

And that's why he chose this career

"I always love places like this" Shadow's eyes wandered the park

"Really? I thought you love metal music. Thought you were edgy. " Sonic laughed

"Oh. I used to love too. But eh, I don't know why I don't listen to those kinds of musics anymore" Shadow shrugged

"And hey, I'm not edgy. I just use that persona when needed" Shadow chuckled

"Like when we were at high school? When you were having a fight with one of those so called gangters at school?"

"Yeah. Like that. Also, when you are annoying me" Shadow playfully smirked

"Says the hedgehog who calls me 'Amy'" Sonic crossed his arms and pouted a little bit

Shadow laughed and look at his friend. He put a hand on his shoulder and patted him. But Sonic swayed his arms away which made Shadow laugh more.

Sonic felt something on his chest. He felt like his stomach drop. He didn't payed attention much to it

"Sorry. Just can't help. I really thought you two were official. No lying" Shadow raised both his hands in defense

"What? No! Almost. I told her I was not ready in a relationship and that I wanted to enjoy my high school life. So yeah... You know what happened. But instead of slapping me, avoiding me at school, or feeling awkward with me, she smiled at me and said it was okay. She will wait. Next day, she still acted the same. She gives me death hugs, waves at me and calls my name loudly when she sees me even when we were close together or I'm just walking in the hallway. I felt so bad" Sonic snickered and covered his face with both his hands, groaning in shame and embarrassment
