Smooth runs the water, where the brook is deep
under the Greenwood tree, sat you and me,
with soulful whispers you lull me to sleep
reminiscing gently, of days carefree.

Shall I compare thee, to a summer's day
when sunflowers bloomed and butterflies flew,
collecting happiness from golden rays
until our sweet little blossomed love grew.

I'll wear my heart upon my sleeve for you
when time and destiny will test our love,
yet the course of love, never did run smooth
so save us glory, for the game is up.

Thereby hangs a tale of magic and grief,
a love so pure, sets our hearts and souls free.
