24. distance

Distance makes us fonder
so the petals thought,
until they sadly realised
their stars were at fault;
for destiny had other plans
to separate them from the leaves,
who tried hard to cover up
their dreams and forlorn grief;
hence, they huddled together
hoping to unite once again,
for maybe someday their lover
will ease all their pain.
