Prompt - olfactory sense

Walking down our memory lane
covered with dusty old shelves,
of chances taken, mistakes made
when we'd just be ourselves;
I chanced upon your lingering smell.

Misty woods and mandarin lime
were rather your favorite 'fumes,
adding to your aura, every time
would draw me closer to you;
each passing moment, a blissful truth.

We'd often walk hand in hand
gazing at the luminous night sky,
you'd shyly tuck away a lone strand
while I'd admire your cheeky smile;
seeing countless galaxies in your eyes.

Our souls would yearn for a dance
when you'd lift me high above,
those days full of pure romance
you'd sing the tales of our love;
dreaming of a future was enough.

At times, I miss your heavenly smell
for it brings back those golden days,
but now that you're gone, I can't tell
if we were meant to part our own ways;
hopefully, we'll meet again someday.
