I have no idea
how the tables turned.

It was a regular day;
you, me, a lazy afternoon
everything set for a perfect date,
until your phone buzzed.
Again and again.
Ignored the call, ignored the pain
and I smiled halfway,
for I was living an illusion
of our love filled days.
Why would I want to bust it
when we were happy that way,
no guilt, nor remorse
no joy, nor sorrow
just perfect to the world.

That's why I have no idea
whether the tables turned.

That evening you were silent,
looking at Hades below,
you burst my magic bubble
when you answered the door.
There she stood, smiling,
with whiskey in her hand,
tipsy smile she flashed
to lure you out of my land.
Anger seethed in me
but so did pain and envy,
how could she so easily
threaten your love for me.

I still have no idea
when the tables turned.

You made it seem so easy,
you were probably ready,
to leave behind this mess
hoping to leave no regrets.
Alas, my lover, I only saw red
maybe love is blind, but not our kind
for I knew this had to end
it was about time.
I don't remember what followed,
I can only recall your body
twisted, covered in her blood
like a forlorn rose's bud.
I swear I didn't mean to
end your lives instead
I wanted you alive
just our lost love, dead.
I can't change our destiny
I can't change the past,
what's done is done
maybe this wasn't meant to last.

I just, have no idea,
why the tables turned -
on me.
