today was the concert in paris so i was getting to change to meet up with alice and luca at a cafe.
"mother, father, i'm leaving now. i'll see you night." i bid goodbye to my parents went to the local cafe.
i ordered a coffee and sat there waiting for my friends to show up. it was quiet until this group of guys came in the cafe speaking korean.
"what do you want?" one of them asks in korean. all of them said an iced americano.
the tallest one was trying to order in english but since this is a small cafe, the barista didn't know english. i decided to help since i know english from school and korean from my parents.
"hi," i greet in korean. "can i help with ordering?"
"oh, please," one of them replies. all of the boys were wearing hats and face masks.
"what would you like?"
"nine iced americanos," the tall one says. i smiled and nod, turning to the barista.
"can i have nine iced americanos please," i told the barista in french. she smiles and nods. i gave her my card before the group notices. "thank you. have a good day."
i led the boys to a corner table that was empty since there were a lot of them.
"you didn't have to pay for us," one of them says in korean.
"it's okay. think it is as a gift from me to you from paris," i explain. "more local and small family-owned cafes, the workers don't know english well or at all."
"thank you," the group says.
"what is you name?" one male asks.
"charlotte but you can call me chaewon." i smile at the boys.
"nice to meet you charlotte, i'm mark," the one seating next to the tallest one says, shaking my head.
"nice to meet you mark."
"chalotte, you're order is ready," the barista calls.
i was going to get up but some of the boys beat me to it. at the same moment, i got a call from alice.
"luca and i will meet you at the concert. our family unexpectedly came to visit," she told me in english.
"it's okay," i reply. "i'll see you at the concert."
"okay, bye." i end the call to see the boys looking at me.
"you are going to a concert tonight?" mark asks in korean,
"yeah, you know nct 127? i got tickets for my best friend as her early birthday gift," i explain, taking a sip of my coffee.
"really, we are going there too," a happy boy says. "where are you sitting noona?"
"please don't call my noona, i'm going to feel old when i'm still young," i say and the boys laugh. "and i got tickets closest to the stage, on the right."
"what's your best friend name?" the male next to me asks.
"alice thomas, she's turning 19."
"what about you? when's your birthday?" mark asks.
"december 24th, 2000. the day before christmas."
"is you're last name lee?" the male next to me asks.
"yes?" i cautiously says.
"are your parents lee chaerin and lee minjin?" he questions.
"okay, that's creepy but yes. how do you know that?"
"because you're my cousin. your father is my uncle."
