Seto's POV

"Commander Seto!" Someone called as the doors to the library burst open.

"What is it?" I asked, looking up from my spell book.

"Some people went missing sir." the recruit reported, her aquamarine colored eyes glistening slightly.

I put the book down slowly and stared at her.

"Who went missing?"

"A girl named Hope from our army and another recruit from General Deadlox's army sir. Sky Army, The Bacs, and The Benjas have all disappeared as well."

"Their whole army?"

The recruit nodded. "Yes sir. One day they were there the next, gone."

I sighed and stood up from my desk.

"Was there magic involved?"

She shook her head. "Actually some say it was the squids sir."

I cursed under my breath. "Of course it'd be them. Get General Deadlox down here immediately. Tell him it's urgent."

"Yes sir." she saluted and turned to leave.

"Wait! What's your name?" I called after her.

She turned and smiled slightly. "My names Alexandra, sir."

I nodded. "Thank you Alexandra."

She nodded once before disappearing out the door.

A few minutes later, Ty came rushing through the door followed by another girl.

"What's wrong? Did someone die?" Ty asked frantically.

I shook my head. "No. Squids attacked a few armies and wiped them out."

Ty's jaw fell.

"What? How?!"

I shrugged. "I don't know. There are also a few recruits missing from both our armies."

Ty cursed loudly, catching the girl with him off guard.

"Sorry, Pink. Didn't mean to startle you." Ty muttered.

"What's the plan if they attack us General? Judging by the three armies that suddenly disappeared, I'd say they've gotten a lot stronger."

Ty sighed and walked over to my desk, sitting on the other side of it while I took my chair.

"Either they've gotten stronger, or smarter. Both are bad situations. I'm hoping it's the earlier though just because we could match their strengths if needed."

I nodded slowly. "We need defenses don't we?"

Ty nodded. "Definitely. We'll also need a strategy if they attack us."

"Yeah. Bu-" I gasped as someone appeared on the floor next to me, a stab wound in their shoulder.

"Alexandra?!" I exclaimed, helping her up.

"What happened?" Ty asked.

"It's them sir, the s-squids are here."

I looked up at Ty who had fear in his eyes.

"Go tell them what to do. Bring the injured to me and I'll try my best to heal them." I ordered quickly, turning to Alexandra and muttering a spell under my breath.

"Got it. Pink, help me out!" Ty ordered, running out the door with the girl on his heels.

"Thanks Seto." Alexandra muttered, leaning against a bookshelf.

I nodded quickly. "Get some rest. I'm going to help any of the other wounded."

She nodded and closed her eyes, clearly too drained to protest.

How long have they been here? I wondered, turning to the door of the library.

It was then I heard the commotion outside.

I ran to the window and gaped at the scene.

Blood, squids, sorcerers, people and swords all mashed together in one violent blob in the courtyard.

I looked around trying to find Ty, but panic when I saw him being dragged away by the squids.

Gasping, I teleported over to them and killed the two squids carrying him off with my diamond sword.

Ty smiled slightly and muttered a thanks to me, pulling out his sword.

I nodded and attacked another squid that was reaching for my arm.

"Seto they're kidnapping recruits!" Ty called to me.

"Fantastic! I'm starting to see how those other three armies disappeared!" I growled, cutting of a tentical that had wrapped around my torso.

"No kidding. What do we do?"

"We can't retreat! They'll just follow us! Keep fighting I guess!" I responded, slashing another squid.

Ty and I continued to fight side by side, taking down squid after squid.

Soon they started thinning out, only to reveal the king himself.

I growled and held my sword up at it.

"You did this!" Ty growled.

The king smirked at both of us then looked at Ty.

"You seem to be missing a very important recruit don't you?"

Ty's eyes widened and he spun around, frantically searching for someone.

"Pink?!" He called for gold and green haired girl from earlier.

"And you, sorcerer." the king turned to me.

"One of your lovely sorceresses joined my cause."

I gasped and took a step back, shocked.

Someone had betrayed me? Betrayed us?

The king smirked as a feminine voice muttered in my ears.

"Pernoctabit." It whispered. (Latin Translate: Go to sleep)

All at once, I felt my knees go weak, my eye lids droop down, and my body fall limply into someone's arms behind me.

"Good work, Hope." The king praised as my world faded into darkness.
