The teens had gotten some food and with the extras Alex made a plate for his dad. Walking past various artifacts belonging to the magician who once owned their hostel, Alex turns a corner and sees his dad in a straitjacket sitting on a couch.

"Hungry?" Alex asks looking down at his dad

"You gonna feed me by hand, or take me out of this jacket?" Geoffrey asks trying to move his hands that were restrained by the jacket

"Yeah, I don't like any of those choices. Maybe I'll just keep it for myself" Alex says trying to find a place to put down the plate but instead keeps a hold of it as he sits down across from his dad

"I don't have much of an appetite anyway. My head is pounding" Geoffrey mentions making Alex hold on to the piece of bacon

"Yeah, Jonah put you in one of those boxes. Now usually good for somebody's health" Alex says taking a bite of the bacon

"Neither is this right here. I'm talkin' about your health, not mine." Geoffrey says which only makes Alex scoff "You don't know what you've gotten yourself into, son. You need to walk away and leave it to us"

"So you can handle it like you handled Darius?" Alex asks believing that his father had killed Darius

"That...wasn't the plan," Geoffrey hesitantly says deciding not to break the news of who truly shot Darius but also had to phrase what he was saying correctly so his son wouldn't catch on, "Sometimes you trust someone to do the right thing, and they...just don't. As for your crew, the hacking computer stolen from Atlas in the middle of the day, a kid flipping a truck at the dig site-"

"That wasn't us, all right? At least... not technically" Alex interrupts while placing the plate of food on the desk behind him

"My point is, that shit was messy. Alex, you- Since you were little, I could always tell when you were wingin' it." Geoffrey says making Alex turn his head and shakes it not liking that his dad was suddenly reminiscing the past "Improvising because you thought you'd be smart enough when the time came. Well, this isn't a world history exam"

"Just like you to underestimate me"

"You can't go up against Jonah. He will kill you!" Geoffrey exclaims making Alex stand up from his seat having had enough

"Like you killed fifteen runaways?"

"Cut the bullshit Alex. We can rehash the past some other time. I'm trying to keep you alive" Geoffrey tries to explain to his stubborn son

"Well, I don't need your help for that" Alex says turning around to leave

"Really?" Geoffrey asks making Alex stop walking as it sounded his father knew something "Ok, 'cause it seems to me you're missing some critical information"
