Chapter 21

Yuki POV

"Let's run around and try to Kaede and Nagisa," I ask Karma, he nods, suddenly we see Kendo and Tetsutetsu, "H-hey guys!" The poison gas was getting to us and the fact that I took that big blow for Kota wasn't helping, "Akabane! Karasuma! What happened to you? Here quickly, take a mask!" Kendo holds them out to us, we put them on, "Where did you get these?" Karma asks tieing his up, "Yaoyorozu made them for us earlier," Tetsutetsu tells us I nod, "Hmm, think about it, it seems like the gas is moving in a circle, like a typhoon or a cyclone, if that's true, that means the emitter must be in the centre, the eye of the storm!" I knock my hand, "Oh, that's right! Great thinking!" Kendo says, "The more we go in, the thicker the poison, can we handle that? Who knows how strong these masks are," Karma asks flipping the knife, "THEN LET'S RUN IN HEAD FIRST!" Tetsutetsu yells running, we have no other choice, he's right, the poison was getting thicker and thicker, crap, suddenly Tetsutetsu jumps in, "I GOT YOU!" Then we hear a gunshot, "Nagisa? Kaede?" I wonder if that was them and accidentally hit him, thank god he's made of metal, "Ha! Who's that? I saw you guys on TV, you make your skin hard, you're bulletproof, shame you got beat my some saltwater." We saw the guy, he had a gas mask on with glowing red eyes, "You might have quirks, but you forget our world is still filled with firearms and guns!" He laughs, "Who said we weren't prepared?" Karma starts loading his gun up, "It wouldn't be a fair battle if only you had one, let's even it out." He has a sinister look oh his face, here we go again. Tetsutetsu's mask was blown off by a bullet, "Tetsutetsu! We need to get you out of this miasma! You'll get poisoned!" Kendo shouts, he was on the brink of unconsciousness, "Kendo! Take him! He will lose consciousness anytime soon! We'll be fine, I promise!" I turn back at her, "Oh, yeah, we can take this bastard down, piece of cake," Karma fires another shot at him, she nods and the two of them slip away, out of the smog, "Oh, dumb move, that just means I have to kill two less people!" He laughs maniacally, I sweatdrop, "You call that a maniacal laugh? Psh doesn't compare to Takaoka, nope not one bit!" I turn my head away lifting my nose up high, "So pal, say we continue this?" Karma aims his gun at him, "Careful! He's got live ammo!" I remind Karma, he smirks, "Oh, of course, no matter, besides, Mr K outdid himself with our new uniforms!" We charge at him, he shoots at us, "Ha? Why can't my bullets get to you?" We grin, "Government-grade material, six layers of kevlar, try getting through that!" I smirk, "And," Karma punches his mask off, "Why does a poisoner have his own mask unless he can't breathe it in himself!" The poison gas immediate dies down," He was on the ground unconscious, "Who'd a thunk an elementary kid was behind all that? He's pretty weak if he just got knocked out by a punch," I note, "Two down! Let's keep going!" Karma puts his gun away, I nod, "Let's go!" 

We continue running along the forest, trying to find if anyone needed help, "Oh you're bleeding Kaede! You couldn't look more adorable!" I hear an unfamiliar voice, "Don't call me that! Only my friends can call me that!" I hear Kaede's voice, I pull Karma's arm in that direction, "Hey what's wron- ack!" I put a finger to my lips and point at Kaede with Nagisa and a girl in a beige sweater, I walk out, "So I guess I'm your friend," I smirk, "Yuki! Karma too!" Nagisa lights up, "Ugh, what are you doing here- Oooh! You're cute!" She lunges at me and tries to cut me with her knife, I dodge, "You know cross-contamination between individual's blood isn't good" I wag my finger, "Anywho, I don't think someone's taken a liking to you, after your comment just then," I point my eyes at Karma who was charging at the girl, "Oh, my bad is she your girlfriend?" She asks cutely, "Matter of fact, Yes!" She lunges her knife at Karma, I sit down and motion for Nagisa and Kaede to come over, "Let's watch the show, it won't be interesting anymore and it's going to last for a few seconds," We all agree and start a little picnic. All Karma needs to do is unarm her, easy as pie, pivot on one foot to disappear from their line of sight, grab their hand and back of the neck, pull with all your might and slam them, "And done, let's pack up the picnic," I dust my hands off, we grab some rope and tie her up, "So, girl, what are you doing here tonight?" I fiddle with the syphon on the ground, she looks down, "The name's Toga, Himiko Toga, you're such a cutie, my mouth would just open like a flood gate, so I shouldn't say a word," I pout, "Also," She cuts all the rope off, our eyes widen, "I always keep a spare knife on hand," Todoroki, Shoji and Izuku come up to us, "I don't feel like dying today, there are too many people at our party now," She runs off, we were just about to chase after her, "Don't, you don't know what quirk she has, best let her runoff," Todoroki grabs my arm, I nod, "Who was she anyway," Izuku asks, "One of the villains, she was crazy," Kaede says, "Where is Bakugou anyway?" Nagisa asks, "He's right behind us-" Izuku looked shocked, "He's right here, safe and sound," We all look up, there was a man in a mask, "Give him back!" Izuku yells, "Give him back? Bakugou is his own person, why the aggression? We merely just want to show him the life of heroes he's drowning in, it's important to go for a job that lines with your core values after all," Karma sneers, "Let's get him Yuki, Yuki?" He looks around, he shows another marble, "YUKI!" Karma shouts, "If you think you're monologuing because you think you've beaten us, you're mistaken," Todoroki shouts, "Oh, bad habit of mine, I was once an entertainer you know, taking Karasuma was a bit of improv on my part," he fiddles with the two marbles, "I saw how she fights, she performs. Each step she takes, each lunge she goes for, it's quite beautiful if I must say so," he performs tricks with the marbles, "YOU BASTARD! YOU CAN'T TAKE HER! Oh, Bakugou too," Karma yells, Todoroki fires a strong wall of ice, "Apologies, but sleight of hand and escapology are my specialties, not combat, I'm not foolish enough to fight candidates of UA, vanguard action squad, I've acquired our target, my little show has officially come to a close, meet me by the retrieval area for our final bow," He has a communicator, "They're going to take them, our friends," Todoroki gasps. Todoroki, Ochako, Tsu, Izuku, Shoji, Kaede and Nagisa run after Mr Compress, "We can't make it, he's too fast!" Ochako exclaims, "Uraraka, you have to make us float, and then Tsu, you launch us with your tongue, Shoji, use your arms to balance our trajectory, hold on me and Karma through the air, measure the distance with your eyes Uraraka, then when the time's right, release us!" Nagisa yells he's always been the one who uses his brain before the brawn,  "I see, human bullets," Todoroki calculates, "Hurry!" Nagisa shouts, they nod. Tsu wraps her tongue around Karma, Nagisa and Shoji while Uraraka makes them weightless, "Ok, go ahead Tsu," She nods, "Ribbit!" She launches Karma, Nagisa and Shoji into the air, they catch him in mid-air and pummel him to the ground, "Now, YOU RAM BASTARD! GIMME BACK MY GIRLFRIEND!" Karma was kicking and punching the daylight out of Mr Compress, "Hey guys... we've got company," Shoji and Karma look up to what Nagisa was looking at, "Out of the way Compress" He shrinks down, blue flames like the one which separated me and Kaede from the villains came at us, "Heya! You're cute too! But it would look cuter if you bled a little!" Toga pinned Nagisa down, "Nagisa!" Shoji pushed Toga off him, "So that's how it is, you want to come in between us, to be honest, you're not really my type, but I'll cut you anyways," She grips her knife tighter, Karma was fighting Twice, but he just kept jumping around all over the place, "Hey man, like the fighting style, reminds me of a bounce house," He smirks, Mr Compress looks in his pockets for the marbles, "Karma, Nagisa, we're done here, he showed off his best tricks, I'm not sure what you're quirk is but it has to do with those little marbles right?" Shoji shows them the two marbles he took from his pocket, "You saved them!" Nagisa looks up, they start running away, "Hang on, we aren't leaving without the kid," Dabi says as everyone stepped through Kurogiri's portals, "Oh don't worry, I let them have a look through my pockets, they were so focused, but let me shoe the basic tenant of magic, if I'm flaunting something shiny, it's because there's something else I don't want you to see," He takes off his mask and has two marbles on his tongue, "Ah! He's got them!" Shoji and Nagisa gasp, he clicks his fingers and the two marbles Shoji was holding was Todoroki's ice he cut up, "During my getaway, I made two extra as dummies, a little bit of misdirection, forgive me," He starts slipping away through the portal, suddenly, Aoyama's navel laser goes off and breaks off his mask, he spits out both marbles, Shoji and Karma reaching out for them, Karma got one while Shoji just missed, "Confirm it now, release them," Dabi says, Mr Compress snaps his fingers and I pop out and land on Karma, while Bakugou was held by the neck by Dabi, "Checkmate, heh," The start slipping away, I run-up, "That's my line!" I try to grab Bakugou, his hand extending, our fingers merely touch, then he's gone. 

We walk back to camp, "Where's Bakugou?!" Mr Aizawa asks we tell him the story the class was shocked, "Well I'm glad you're safe Yuki, as for Bakugou, I can't say the same, you did your best to save him, you did well." I hold back tears, "But it wasn't enough," I whisper, soon after the villains left, emergency services came, the fires were put out and those who were injured were brought to hospitals, out of 40 students, 15 were either unconscious or in a critical state due to the gas, 11 were injured, 13 were unharmed, 1 of us was missing, 1 of the 6 pro heroes were seriously injured due to the blow to the head, another was missing but it was apparent she had lost a lot of blood. As for the villains, 3 were caught and arrested, the other 3 managed to escape thanks to Kurogiri, the summer training camp we were so excited for, couldn't have been worse. We return back to the camp, I see Kota, his eyes were watering, he sees me and Karma, and runs up to us, we break off from the group and I run up to him and give him a big hug and he was sobbing thank yous and I could have sworn I heard an I love you to Karma and I? I was sent off to hospital, they wanted to give me a checkup after that big blow from Muscular, we have goodbye to the Pussycats and Kota, I see his hat peeking over the mobile hospital bed I chuckle, "Yeah Kota?" The nurses stop the bed, "Will I see you again? Karma too?" He mutters, I smile, "Of course, and remember that present Karma gave you, keep it a secret and if anything ever happens, just remember to call our names and we'll come running!" I say with a wink he nods and waves us goodbye.

Turns out I lost consciousness for two days after that, the blow ended up breaking three ribs, I was lucky it didn't puncture anything, I wake up and see dad, I giggle and grab a toy gun and shoot his head waking him up, "Well that's a nice reunion," He rubs his head, I hold my arms out asking for a hug, his face softens into a smile and gives me a hug, the door opens, "I brought a present! I mean it's from all of us, it's a melon!" Mineta was excited to show me, "Heya Yuki! Long time no see, didn't think this would be our next meeting! Brought you a new pistol! Hope you like it! Mr K got it from the ministry of defence for you!" Nakamura chucks it over to me, "Sorry, I caused you trouble, I'm sorry guys, especially you, Nagisa, Shoji and Karma, did everyone from 1-A and 3-E come to visit?" I avert my eyes, "No, not everyone, Jiro and Hagakure are still knocked out by that villain's poison and Yaoyorozu took a major blow to the head, she is being hospitalised right here, we just found out she woke up yesterday," Iida tells me, I nod, "I-I'm sorry, I was so close to b-being able to save him, our fingers t-touched. If I just held on long enough and didn't get compressed by that idiot, he would still be here, I'm sorry Izuku, I know he may not seem like it, but you're best friend just got taken away, and I'm the blame, I couldn't save someone who was right in front of me" Tears rolling down my cheeks. "Alright, then let's go get him," Kirishima breaks the silence, "Wowzer Yuki! Never knew this heroing would rub off on you?" Nakamura inches on my bed, I laugh, wiping my tears, playfully pushing her off, I missed her, after leaving E class, I missed my best friend, we were the best at teasing I guess "Yeah, I guess you're right and Kirishima, what were you saying when you said we would get Bakugou? I'll do anything to help!" I look up the class gasps, "Earlier before we saw Yaoyorozu give All Might a receiver to a tracking device she put on a Nomu, if we can we can get another receiver and track him down!" Dad stands up, "No need, in the Karasuma family, we believe that whatever mess you get yourself in, you need to climb your way back out of, the ministry of defence will ask UA to grant you permission to save your classmate and we'll make a receiver for you, by having Ritsu calculate all signals that were emitted during the attack, I'm sure through some sifting, we can find and sync that radio station so no need to bother your friend to make another, the ministry will be behind you supporting you on this mission," My eyes light up, "Yes Sir!"
