BACKSTORY | mei was born in qingdao, china. She has a half japanese, half chinese mother and full chinese father meaning she is 25% japanese. mei never really had a desire for the spotlight, she just read books and studied. mei grew up learning taekwondo and jujitsu. at the age of 10, she started taking interest in dance so she started dancing more and joined a dance academy and did ballet and hip-hop. then she started getting interested in rap more than dance and practiced in her room a lot. at 16, she started auditioning for kpop companies and joined Fantagio. she started working hard while being kind lazy.
