We opened our home to 18 vampires. Many have with gifts of their own. Such as Zafrina from the Amazon had power over the mind. She could make anyone see what she wanted them to.
Benjamin was watching over Edwin, possibly having a good time. Benjamin assures me that he'll not let any other of the vampires harm him, giving me the relief to leave my son in his hands for awhile. Even Carlisle had trusted him more to take care of our son than the other covens.
So now, Carlisle and I, along with the Denali coven plus Garrett tagging along with us watched from the distance how Zafrina used her gift on Edward and Bella. But it seems that it wasn't working on Bella.
As we got closer we can hear how Eleazar and Edward talking about her possesing a gift of shield. A powerful one, I'll give her that.
Reaching them, Kate suddenly takes Bella's hand, a slight buzzing can be heard using her own gift of electricity on Bella.
Kate noticed how she is still unfazed by this, completely unharmed "Oh, yeah, she's a shield, all right. Shoulda put her on her ass" dropping her hand.
"Or your voltage has been exaggerated" the tall one, Garret commented with a smirk
Kate turns to him holding up her palm "Maybe it only works on the weak"
Daring Garrett to try and touch her. Of course this nomad likes challenges and was intrigued by this vampire. We didn't really make a move to stop them, all too interested to see how this turns out. I grinned when Garret stepped towards Kate, lifting his finger.
Carlisle warns "Garrett, I wouldn't"
Garrett didn't listen and touches his finger to Kate's hand and instantly electrocuted, and falling to the ground on his knees while grimacing in pain.
He recovers and smiled ay Kate "You are an amazing woman" he said in awe

I decided to do something, hoping Carlisle wouldn't get mad at me for this. I read something in my old spellbook. To gain something requires a touch or feel of that person's hold.
Stepping forwatd "May I?" I gestured my hand to be touched by Kate.
She looked at me confused, they all did. Carlisle was even more unsure
"Liv, are you sure?"
"Positive. It's for an experiment" I assured him with a smile. And nod at Kate to go for it.
She place her hand on my wrist as the buzzing sound filled the air again. Unlike Garret I didn't drop on my knees, but my face did contorted in pain
"Agh!"
Kate pulls away with no hint of any guilt or remorse, well I asked for it.
"Olivia!" Carlisle was holding my shoulders in place.
