Finding out the news of Aro's witnesses, all the covens gathered in the house minus the kids who were staying upstairs playing around in the room, away from the serious conversation.
Everyone was shock and had no clue what to do, some were even having second thoughts about their coming to the Cullen house. The fear of the Volturi was growing back inside their minds.
Eleazar began to speak "When Aro wants someone from a coven it's never long before evidence turns up proving that coven committed some crime"
"So he's done this before?" Bella asked Eleazar
He nods "It happens so rarely, I never realized it was a pattern"
"Apparently he always pardons one person whose thoughts he claims are repentant" Carlisle adds, seated on the couch beside Olivia
"This person always has an ability, and they're always given a place with the Guard" Eleazar continued
"Alice and Olivia," Edward breathes out in realization "it must be why she left. But why didn't she bring you?" he turns to her confused
"She probably knows that I won't leave Carlisle and Edwin, or anyone behind in that matter" Olivia answers
"But why does he need witnesses?" Emmett asked out loud, almost in complaint
Alistair joins in "To spread the word that justice has been served. After he slaughters an entire coven" shrugs like it was the simplest answer
Carlisle noticed Olivia in her overthinking face, he reached down to grab her left hand caressing her wedding ring to calm her down. She meets his gaze and squeezed his fingers gently
Everyone in the room fell quiet and started to look disturbed, especially Amun, glancing at his mate in a gesture and they both walked towards where Benjamin sat next with Tia.
"Benjamin, Tia, we're leaving" he said
"And where will you go?" Edward interrupts him, "What makes you think they'll be satisfied with Alice or Olivia? What's to stop them from going after Benjamin next?" he nods at Benjamin.

His snappy tone got everyone's attention. Edward looked around at everyone in the room "Or Zafrina or Kate or anyone else with a gift? Anyone they want. Their goal isn't punishment, it's power, it's acquisition. Carlisle might not ask you to fight, but I will. For the sake of my family. But also for yours. And for the way you want to live."
There's a moment of silence in the atmosphere as the vampires look at each other, waiting for anyone to show their responses. Suddenly Jacob stands from his seat
"The packs will fight. We've never been afraid of vampires"
Edward sends him a grateful look. Then the coven from Denali's stood next "We will fight" their leader Tanya said
