I hardly ever do ranks. Partially because I'm so indecisive and I like everything fairly. But in the world of The Mighty Boosh, I am taking the daunting and pressured task (not really) of ranking the crimps.
⭕ Now... if you do not know what a crimp is, let me explain. The British comedy troupe, known as The Boosh, wanted to integrate their distinctive culture, voices, and weirdness into rap. So the created crimps. Crimps are like raps, but rarely have beatboxing and rely on vocal harmony in speaking. Pretty much, British rap. They cam involve singing or have melodic portions. I'm done rambling like a teacher, so let's do this.
⭕ By the way, if you've never heard these before, I encourage you to listen to them, as they're fun, family-friendly, and just all awesome! To pull off a crimp with my friends would be the ultimate goal!
8. The Stickleback Song
Does anyone actually remember this one? Besides the masala part...I instantly forgot it. It's not bad, but I think there are definitely other crimps that surpass it.
7. Captain Cabinets
This one is higher than Stickleback for nostalgic reasons, as it was in the first episode. Pardon the terrible audio, but I also think this lil clip brought a lot of charm to the show.
6. Pankcake Power
This one is delicious and wild, and I think the rhythm is well done (mmm...just like those pancakes).
5. Jean Claude Jaquettie
This one is pretty good and despite only being in their live shows, with a few clips of it from the show, it sounds great and it plays out funny. Because the full version is lesser known, that's why it's not as high of rank. Pardon the poor audio.
4. Twisty
This crimp was relatively memorable and despite being in the last season, I think this sort of sets the standard for a crimp.
3. The Soup Song
This is one of my favorites. It's silly, catchy, and pretty great. This is the crimp you will most likely hear me singing? saying? This one always manages to make me laugh, and it's really memorable.
2. Bouncy Bouncy
This one is definitely memorable, and when I first saw it I thought it was definitely the best, but now that's kinda worn off. It's still fun and adorable, as well as one of their better known crimps. I'd go as far to say that this one has been the most quoted. This one is a favorite of my family, especially my younger brothers. Besides the "Power Of The Crimp" episode, which the "4 way crimp" is excluded because of profanity, it's one of the few crimps that was done by other people besides Howard and Vince.
1. Calm A Llama Down
Here we go, one of the first official crimps, used in both the radio show and the show, twice, I think. It's cute, sweet, wild, and nostalgic. This one is the ideal crimp, in my opinion, and on e of mine and my brother's favorites.
So that's that. Do you agree? Do you not? Is there an appropriate crimp I forgot? Which one's your favorite? Which one is not? You can say so in the comments, I like to hear thoughts.
Hope you enjoyed one of my first ranks!
