So, I've been delving into the Wizarding World again. Actually, can we just call it the HP universe? Ever since our good friend Mrs.Rowling banked on the term...I don't like it as much. It's no longer a location, but a term of her entire magic universe. That makes perfect sense, but I'm mainly going to be discussing the realm of Harry Potter, as in the 7 books and 8 movies. I actually haven't seen Crimes Of Grindlewald, nor have I read "The Ickabog" yet. I plan on doing both just cuz and my family also really wants to! Anyways....
This contains spoilers for the entire Harry Potter series, both books and movies, including the not quite cannon Cursed Child, Hogwarts Mystery, and Fantastic Beasts. There's no way to do this w/out spoilers!
Ok, here we go!
1. It All Gets Funnier
It really does! The first time around, you're so into the plot, you wanna meet everyone, solve all the mysteries... The humor is great, but you don't have time to dwell on jokes.
The second time, you know it all, so you get to fully appreciate these bits. Even in the movies! One of my family's favorite scenes of all time is when Hermione smacks Harry with parchment in the 6th movie. Also, in both the books and the movies...Harry being cynical is hilarious!
From the books, I dunno if my brain wasn't functioning, but here are some parts that had me bursting:
Chamber Of Secrets
- Mrs.Mason being terrified of birds
- Dobby
- Mr.Malfoy and Mr.Weasky having a fist fight in the bookshop. The only reason I find this funny is because they weren't even bothering to use wands and this just seems out of character for Lucius. Despite being this impending character, he just reverts back to the "he started it!" page of life.
- Every time a teacher eggs on Gilderoy Lockhart. It's hilarious! You can tell even the staff hate him! It's even funnier when their attempts to exploit him completely backfire and reverse on them! This happens so many times with Snape and you can see he's clearly getting heated and Lockhart is so blissfully unaware!
Prisoner Of Askaban
- How Aunt Marge really wants to give the Dursleys advice on Harry's upbringing. I also think that this sort of shows that they're not so terrible after all. It never seems like he was really abused...and I can understand making him do the housework because taking care of 2 kids when you had only finacially planned on one is lot of work, physically, mentally, and financially.
- The fact that Ripper has tea...out of her saucer.
